Door Jam

I called Door Jam on a Sunday late morning. Someone immediately answered the phone. When I told him my torsion spring had snapped he told me he would be at my home later that afternoon by 3 or 4. They came and first quoted me $145 for a single spring. I was informed that going with 2 springs would ultimately better balance the door then one oversized spring. I agreed even though that raised the price to $230 including 2 new cables which seemed reasonable. I know I paid about $140 13 years ago when my last single spring broke. I also had never been able to physically open my garage door before without propping something under it to keep it from falling down. I was told the single spring that was installed was either to weak or not properly wound because my door should be able to be disconnected from the garage door opener and the door should stay in any position without closing. When they left I was able to do just that,literally lifting the door with 1 finger... the door will stay part way or all the way open without moving. When they left I noticed a noise coming from one side when the door closed. I called them and they came right back, mind you this is around 5pm Sunday. A piece of the door trim was catching a bit and they quickly adjusted it and solved that problem. I will say I tried contacting Innovative Garage Door in Downers Grove and had to leave a message, well they finally got back to me around 5:45 that evening. So much for their emergency service. I am glad I followed up with Door Jam as they came and also answered the phone as I wasn't sent to a voicemail that I wasn't sure anyone would even listen to that same day like at Innovative.. I was also quoted $165 for a single spring from them... Door Jam $20 cheaper for a single spring... I would use them again in a heartbeat...

The price was right and the guys were great. I called them late Tuesday morning and they came out same day to do my repairs. They worked quickly and Jason explained some easy maintenance tips before they left. I'd definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

I called Jason at Door Jam because they were recommended on our neighborhood community Facebook page. I thought my garage door spring was broken and we wanted to have a door opener installed.. Jason came out right away and figured out the spring wasn't broken, but the cable needed to be replaced, because it was frayed $7.

My husband and I used Door Jam at our town home a few years ago and had great service. At our new house our garage door was acting up but only every once in awhile. We hated to have someone come out and tell us there was nothing wrong and still pay $100 or so. My husband called Door Jam and explained this and the gentleman was extremely nice and diagnosed our problem over the phone. What he thought the problem was actually was exactly what was going on and was a SIMPLE fix by my husband. This guy could have not given my husband the info and insisted he needed to come out and charge us for basically nothing. Instead, he was gracious enough to understand where we were coming from. Door Jam, no doubt, has all of our future business! We will be sure to recommend them to anyone. Good customer service is hard to come by these days. Thanks Door Jam!!!

I rarely see all three together! We've had a lot go wrong with our home lately so when the torsion (sp?) spring in our garage broke, we were worried about the cost. The first place we called wouldn't even take our call unless we wanted someone to come out on an "emergency" basis. I called DoorJam and they scheduled me right away - no claim that they had to charge me more. I looked up the price to have someone come out and fix it and expected the worst. DoorJam was able to come out earlier than my scheduled time and they were done in about 45 minutes WITH even helping us get our cars out of the garage. The technician also gave us some additional information on our garage door opener and suggested solutions to fix why the door was getting hung up. After all was done, they came in at the very lowest end of cost that I found online. HIGHLY recommend this company.

Jason is awesome! He's honest, helpful and friendly. I've had Door Jam out for a couple jobs over the past year (first a broken spring and recently a broken motor). In both cases Jason provided his best option for repairing the garage door. Where others might have tried to sell me a new motor or door, Jason was honest about ways to keep the current door running. He's one of the "good" ones!

I have a garage door that had been creaking for some time now, but yesterday the spring broke down. I searched around for a good garage door repair company, and decided upon Door Jam based on the good reviews they had on-line.



I called them up at around 11:00 AM and Jason said that he'd come by at 2:00 PM the same day. And indeed he did. Jason was very timely, professional and did a satisfactory job. He also took the time to explain to me how to periodically lubricate the hinges of the garage door to keep it working well. I would happily recommend Door Jam to friends and family.

Great service from Jason! Arrived when he said he would, very prompt. Looked at the problem, explained what he would do, fixed the problem and provided some advice in case of future problems.

WOW, What great and professional service. Jason and Steven are extremely knowledgable and had my Torsion Springs replaced in under 30 minutes. One morning last week, my wife came to me saying the garage door would not open. Upon further investigation, I discovered the torsion spring had snapped. I had called the company that had last fixed my garage, but got a voicemail. I decided to look through the yellow pages and came across Door Jam. I was impressed that it had 74 reviews and all of them were 5 stars. How could I go wrong? I called Door Jam and Jason answered right away. He explained that he hadn't looked at his schedule yet, but would call me later to let me know when he could make it out. To my surprise, he called approximately 2 hours later and said that he was less than 5 minutes away. Jason came in, looked at the problem and asked me if I wanted to replace 1 or both springs. Not being very knowledgeable about Garage door springs, I asked Jason for more information and he was very forth coming. He explained what could happen if both springs were not replaced. I appreciated his honesty. 30 minutes later, both springs were installed. Jason also voluntarily lubricated the door and checked my garage door opener for damage. Jason was very professional, informative and a good honest person. I would recommend Door Jam to anyone

Called Saturday morning and Jason was out by noon. Prices much less than other quotes especially those that wanted to charge more because it was a Saturday. Did a great job and did extras. Would highly recommend Door Jam.
