As a self employed truck driver, I was hired by this company to clear debri from HEB Grocery store & take to a disposal site. After working with them for 3 weeks. They did not pay me the correct amount one of the weeks. I called the main office in San Antonio, TX & they told me that the supervisor only comes once a week to sign checks. I found that odd since they had no problem paying me on time the previous 3 weeks. Two weeks went by & still no check. I would call the office & my phone calls would go unanswered. Finally after several weeks of trying to collect payment for work that I did for them I finally spoke to the supervisor & he bitterly told me that he has up to 90 days to pay me & also becuase HEB had not paid them, so he could not pay me! I felt he was purposely keeping my check from me. Also the secretary at the home office would not answer my phones calls, but when I happen to block my number she surprisingly answered. Actions like this are deemed unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Self employed people depend on getting paid for work they perform, not wait till whenever frustrated people "feel" they should pay you.
