Overall

Mark Wolf gave me an estimate on a flip project. I was interested in keeps expenses down. He would not or could not sell me the brand of HVAC equipment I was interested in, which cost less than half of what he was recommending. I went with another guy who was willing to work with me and the goals I have. Sparing many of the details, the other guy is causing me a lot of grief and deadlines are being missed big time. So I came to Mark Wolf asking for help finishing up where the other guy left off. Most of the ducting is done; I just need the air handler hooked to the trunk line, the lines run outside to the compressor, and a few other small things. When Mark learned that I already bought the equipment, and that it was not from Larson, he said he could not help me. Remembering that he had given me a quote previously, he did not mince words when he said that's what I get for trying to save money, that I should not have gone with "two guys and a meth truck". In retrospect, sure, I should not have chosen the guy I chose (even though he came highly recommended...). But to be told "I told you so" essentially from someone, a professional, whom you are asking for help left me nearly dumbfounded. He explained that Larson does not get involved when it is not their project or their equipment because it could hurt their reputation if something does not work right. Do we not all find ourselves asking for help sometimes from people who are not responsible for the problem? My family is waiting on the A/C to work, we need help, and I am told their reputation must be upheld. In whose eyes? I witnessed a pompous, haughty, shameless, selfish representative of Larson Heating, Air & Plumbing. Two stars because the receptionist was cheerful and polite.
