East Cooper Transmission and Auto Repair

Had my S-10 pick-up shipped from out West when we moved here. When the truck was unloaded, the truck would not move. Had the truck towed to a shop that told me I had a transmission problem. Our new neighbor recomended I go to these guys. After towing the truck there David informed me that the only problem was the emergency brakes were stuck on. They freed up the brakes,cleaned everything up and checked the rest of the truck. I left there extremely happy. Thanks David. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

These people are not honest. They will low-ball the estimates to get the work and then screw you! David is arrogant and condescending. Take you repairs to a PROFESSIONAL repair shop

I took my truck in because I was having transmission issues. I got quotes from other places around town that my total repairs would cost me around $600. I informed them of this and they said they would do a detailed inspection of my truck to get to the root of the problem. They did not give me a quote for the repairs and halfway fixed my truck prior to my knowledge. They told me what was wrong and still did not inform me of what I would be paying. I go to pick up my truck expecting the price to be around the other quotes, but instead it cost me $2500!!!!! I informed them that I was never informed that it would be costing me that much to repair my truck. I wouldn't have done business with them if I knew this. They told me that they will not be reimbursing me for anything and do not have any wiggle room. My truck was there for 3 days and I received a labor charge of $1500. They did a great job on my transmission but I will never be going back to this place

I had pretty much the same experience I read for the Aamco in Summerville. I took my car in b/c it was making a noise and wanted them to tell what they thought the problem was. Next thing I knew they had completely taken apart my entire front end and wanted to rebuild it for a price that was considered ridiculous by other estimates around town. When I told them I wanted to take it they said I had to pay my bill first, for all the labor of taking it apart which I never authorized them to do.
