I would not recommend to anyone because they are under staffed and they don't tell you what is going on with the patient. They let a patient strave for two weeks before geting a doctor to see her, he found thrush in her mouth and she couldn't eat. She lost 25lbs before they did anything. We have to call them everyday and ask them to please tell us if she ate or not. They have one lady to feed 4 people at once, so the food gets cold and Mother wont eat it. I could say more but I wont at this time.

The staff is not equipped to take care of the residents. They do not always tell the full truth when relatives call to ask about a patient. Patients have been left wet and uncomfortable for long lengths of time.

In the feeding room, one aid

was feeding four people at the same time. Family's wishes and requests have to be made over and over and over again and then some are still not followed up on.

A request was made for a patient to be seen by a specific Doctor and was not followed up on and it was two weeks before the patient was seen and only because family member called and asked why nothing had been done, yet.

No To Baybrook

I would not recomend Baybrook Village for a loved one. My Mother is there. She is 90 years old and they seem to have quit caring for her. The administrator and the head nurse say she is dying so why give her better care. She had not been eating for 2 weeks and no one bothered to find out why. She lost 25 pounds in that time. Someone finally looked in her mouth and saw that it was full of thrush. The family asked that she be put on pureed food. When someone went to visit her they were feeding her chopped food that she could chew up but could not swallow. We insisted she be given pureed food again. We asked that she be given yogurt, they gave her tapioca. She worked the little balls out of her mouth. She is nearly comotose due to a medication they left her on too long.

When we call to ask how mother is doing we are told she is fine. We all live out of town so those in charge know we will not be checking in on her often. I drove 1850 miles over a three day period last week to check on her. Her closest relative is 500 miles away. We feel that due to her age and the fact that noone lives close by they just don't have to give her the quality of care that she deserves. Baybrook is a nice new(2 years old), clean facility that Mother was comfortable with until she started going downhill and stopped getting the care she deserved.
