All areas in your business or home, including flooring, wallpaper, furnishings, etc. will be protected from start to finish by drop cloths or poly plastic.

Float all seams, wallpaper joints and imperfections. Gardz damaged drywall and remaining wallpaper to seal and prepare walls for texture. "Gardz" is a primer/sealer product that acts as a glue to seal damaged sheetrock, wallpaper and wallpaper backing to prevent bubbles from appearing after texture/paint is applied.

Decide what décor will stay and what will go, so you can base your color scheme on that which you already have in your home. Look at things such as tile, cabinets, and your stone fireplace. If your kitchen cabinets have a mahogany finish, pick a hue that works well with mahogany. You may have drapery that you like; make note of that and pick colors to match. Determine also what architectural features you may want to highlight such as crown molding or a niche. You may want to paint these with a contrasting paint or glossy finish for different effects.

All areas around the home, including shrubs, landscaping, etc. will be protected from start to finish by drop cloths or poly plastic. Windows, brick and light fixtures will be masked off to prevent paint from damaging these areas.

While we prefer you to move vehicles into the garage, or down the street while we are painting, we may cover vehicles left in the driveway with painter's plastic to ensure no paint gets on them.
Walkways
Most houses show better with less furniture, so rent a storage unit and store furniture that crowds your rooms. Remove furniture that block paths and walkways. Since you have cleared your bookshelves, put those in storage too. Anything you can do to make rooms feel more spacious without making them seem desolate is advantageous. Take a leaf or two out of your dining room table to expand the size of the room. You still need furniture to showcase each room, but chances are good you could remove some.

Adjacent color schemes (also known as analogous or related schemes) employ colors that are next to, or near, each other on the color wheel. An example from the color wheel at the right would be green, blue-green and blue. Typically, one of the three colors would be dominant, probably on the siding, while the other two would be accent colors. Although visually complex, adjacent color schemes are typically not as difficult to create as triadic treatments, since there is inherent harmony in colors that are adjacent on the color wheel.

Loose caulking will be removed and replaced. Open gaps will be filled with new caulking to prevent rain water from penetrating below the surface. Loose nail holes will be re-set and reputtied as necessary. Loose and/or missing window glazing will be replaced.
