Disappointing

I don't often write reviews, however, I don't think that my latest experience with Digs should go unnoticed and hopefully - this review could save someone else's time and money... My experience with Digs was extremely disappointing. They completely botched up while processing an order for a $3000 designer sectional and made empty promises to have the sectional delivered to BC in two weeks directly from the vendor - which is why I ordered the sofa with them rather than locally to save a few weeks in delivery time. I was quoted two weeks until the sofa would be delivered to my home. The sofa did not arrive within two weeks and I was not informed of the delay prior to the expected delivery date. It's going on to three weeks now and I have just been told that the sofa has just now left the distribution centre - after I went our of my way to try and contact them to find out where the heck my sofa is! We finally grew impatient and tired of sitting on the living room floor with no sofa - so we purchased a different sofa elsewhere and tried to cancel the sofa order the same day. Unfortunately, Digs, who has failed to explain their return policy at the point of purchase, will not accept a return on a "custom order" - That of which I assume means any order that they place for you that has departed from a warehouse. Perhaps my experience with Digs would've have been less infuriating had management taken accountability for their mistakes in placing the order to begin with. They told me that they would have the sofa shipped to my home in BC - but apparently, that was against the vendors policy and the vendor told Digs that they only ship to the US and Canadian residents are responsible for the pick up or delivery from there. I would've gladly done this had they told me this was the only logical option. Instead, they had me waiting with no furniture and off with my money. I was very unimpressed with how the owners reacted to my complaint by insisting that they were doing ME a favour by placing this "custom order" and tainting their relationship with the vendor to have the sofa shipped directly to me. - The guilt trip was unnecessary and did not resolve my complaint whatsoever. I didn't ask to have them ship to me - I originally placed the order thinking I would go down to Bellingham to pick it up - It wasn't until the owner insisted that they could ship to my home in BC within two weeks that I expected them to do so. I am really disappointed with the lack of professionalism from the owners and uninformed employee's, as well as their lack of customer follow up. Unfortunately for Bellingham, this seems to be the only "trendy" store in the area - for those who don't mind a bit of a drive - I would strongly suggest that you save the headache and place your furniture order with a more reliable company. Perhaps this store is great for gifts - but for big ticket items - I would recommend another retail company. ... Anyone need a sofa?
