Tacolu Mexican Restaurant

It is rare that I will take the time to sit down and write a review for a business. However, in this case, Tacolu deserves this type of personal attention because that's how Don and Debbie run their business...every patron is made to feel like part of their extended family. I'm honored to call them my friends. Besides the personal attention and superior service, their food is Always fresh, unique and delicious! The prices are more than fair. We take all of our out of town guests to Tacolu and they always want to go again before their visit ends! Deb and Don are doing it right. I hope that Tacolu is around for many years to come!

I have lived in Jax Beach for many years and MANY restaurants have called Tacolu's current location home. When Tacolu opened we tried it the first weekend to see if it would meet the same fate or stay. To my DELIGHT this restaurant is not only owned by a couple who visit every table nightly but it also has a Mexican flare like non other. White queso dip is delicious and all the tacos at $3!!! Ranging from cheeseburger taco, bangin' shrimp taco to my personal favorite the $10 taco (that is only $3 and no longer on the menu but the locals order it) it's filet mignon and amazing.



Looking for a great restaurant, friendly and quick service and awesome food from a sweet local couple - this is it...

Oh and did I mention it has a full bar and about 100 different tequila's...a very fun place to go out!

What a surprise! I've been coming to Jacksonville on business for a year, and had been a bit disappointed in the level of culinary creativity and service. This place has completely changed my mind. As soon as you walk in this place, the energy is palpable. It's not fancy, it's just real. The service was impecible right from the start, and within minutes, the owner, Don Nicol, came over and checked on us. He checked on us several more times throughout the night...and it wasn't the pat "everything okay here folks?" checking...he really wanted to know what we thought. And what we told him was that the food was amazing! I had a vegetarian taco and one of the best Margarita's I've ever had. Trust me on this place...you won't be disappointed! (It's not your typical Mexican fare...it's Baja Mexicana - so fish taco's and creative dishes - can't imagine everyone couldn't find something they would love!). Keep up the great work Don and Debbie!
