Plantar Fasciitis
Symptoms of plantar fasciitis are pain at the bottom of your foot when standing, especially in the morning, and pain inside of the foot near where your heel and your arch meet. This pain may subside throughout the day, however it returns with prolonged movement or after resting.

It is important to talk to your podiatrist if you believe you have bunions or any other foot or ankle problem since most of these problems will not fix themselves.
Ingrown Toenails
There are numerous causes of ingrown toenails such as ill-fitting shoes that squeeze the feet, cutting the side of toenails or cutting them too short, and even genetics. To avoid ingrown toenails, it is important to trim toenails straight across and do not trim the sides. Once an ingrown toenail occurs it is highly likely that it will continue to reoccur until treated.

Ulcer
A pressure ulcer are sores that start out as reddened skin but gets progressively worse, forming a blister, then an open sore, and finally a crater. The constant pressure against the skin, from remaining bedridden or staying in one place for a long period of time, reduces the blood supply to that area, and the affected tissue dies.
Fungus
There are various treatments for toenail fungus such as oral antifungal medication, which often works the best to irradicate the condition, and over-the-counter or prescription topical medication. If the condition worsens, a podiatrist will be able to discuss other options for treatment.

Physical Therapy
There are many forms of treament with neuromas. Since neuromas often form in women who wear high heels frequently, a simple change to shoes with good support can help prevent nerve irritation. Often times, padding and taping around the foot can help to relieve pressure as well. Lastly, physical therapy and medication can be prescribed to help deecrease pressure on the foot nerves.

Toenail fungus is a common condition that can destroy the toenail. This is caused by one of many different types of fungi that are attracted to warm, mosit places such as the inside of shoes. Toenail fungus may begin as a small white or yellow spot underneath the tip of the toenail. Once it spreads, it may cause the nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges.

A heel spur and/or bursitis are closely related problems with the plantar fascia and can often accompany plantar fasciitis. A podiatrist can help reduce symptoms by working to correct the cause of the problem.
