My son has been in the infant class at Bright Horizons for almost 10 months now and I could not have been more pleased and over the moon with them. The other reviews I see here are shocking and I couldn't disagree more (I believe the leadership has changed substantially).

The teachers in my son's infant classrooms have won regional awards for their abilities. His gross motor development and skills are off the charts thanks to their careful work with him. The staff are professional, truly care, and are excellent at what they do. I could not recommend this facility more, especially for infants, as their team is top notch!

Bright Horizons is a money hun...

Bright Horizons is a money hungry, corporate entity (owned by Bain Capital). Teachers are very underpaid and unhappy so the turnover is very high. I think I spent more time in the doctor’s office with 6 ear infections in a year, RSV, you name it and so if you do the math, the time lost from work does not justify the cost. One child was stabbed by another child with scissors and it took a very, very long time and appeals to corporate headquarters to get this child kicked out.

So then if you have 2 children, there was no sibling discount. I took it up to the Regional Director and it took ages for them to even get back to me. Finally they got back to me and said it was 5%. Insult to injury. If you do the math, it was equivalent to private college tuition. Hmmm, considering I lose a week a month to illnesses, I think it’s not worth it. Then 2 more moms having second children left. After I left, I heard they lost a flurry of teachers plus their director. Not surprised. They need to really do something to make the Wilton community trust them again. Wilton moms have more negative things to say than positive.

Look at alternatives. Unfortunately my experience , which was short lived in 6 months, was terrible. I have never seen such poor leadership and afternoon coordination than I have with this school We have moved around a bit over the last few years and have used schools in different towns. I enrolled my chikld in this school thinking the branding meant quality and I was very wrong. The teachers are too young and those that are names as leads, are furthest from that as they do not know how to handle the simple day to day situations. Turn over of families seemed a bit high and the teachers constantly complain about the Director's absense, lack of leadership and unfair treatment. If you were a teacher that recvd a pay raise of 20 plus cents for a promotion, would YOU be happy? BH needs to start understanding that the work these men and women put into caring for our children reflects on the treatment they give their staff and the morale. If they are unhappy, the care will suffer and then our customer satisfaction will be impacted. They need new regional and center leadership. I strongly recommend other families to look at other, professional (and provate day schools in the area). The money is much better spent elsewhere. Thank you.
