There are more than 100 types of these diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, back pain, osteoporosis and tendonitis. Some of these are very serious diseases that can be difficult to diagnose and treat.
Rheumatology
Thank you for choosing Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases for you Rheumatology care. We are committed to the success of your medical management. We are certain that you already understand that prompt payment of any balances due on your account is part of this treatment and care. Because there are literally hundreds of health plan options, it is commonly accepted that understanding and clarifying all benefits and exclusions under your health plan is ultimately your responsibility. As a courtesy to you, our office will file insurance claims for you. We participate with most major insurance companies and accept payment on your account by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Pediatric Care
After four years of medical school and three years of training in either internal medicine or pediatrics, rheumatologists devote an additional two to three years in specialized rheumatology training. Most rheumatologists who plan to treat patients choose to become board certified. Upon completion of their training, they must pass a rigorous exam conducted by the American Board of Internal Medicine to become certified.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Flagg earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and completed her Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Rheumatology at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia. She is a board certified Rheumatologist. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Virginia Society of Rheumatologist, Williamsburg/ James City County Medical Society and the Medical Ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation, Williamsburg Chapter. Dr. Flagg is married with three children. She enjoys running, photography, travel and spending time with her family.
