General Info

The Area Agency on Aging, established in 1968, provides services to senior citizens in Luzerne and Wyoming counties in Pennsylvania. The agency offers information about available community resources and assistance with referrals by trained care managers. The Area Agency on Aging provides a variety of in-home support services, such as heavy cleaning, minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs. The agency also provides assistance, consultation and direct representation with civil legal concerns, such as social security, disability, wills, advanced directives and consumer issues. The Area Agency on Aging operates several senior health care centers and offers nutritional services. The agency offers a range of health care services for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, blindness, dental ailments, drug and alcohol addiction and mental disabilities through various nursing home facilities, restoration and health centers and mental hospitals. The Area Agency on Aging is located in Wilkes Barre, Pa.
