Richard S. Abbate has an extensive range of experience and has represented clients in a wide range of areas. Richard has successfully litigated business disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, product liability and general negligence matters. Richard has successfully litigated cases at both the trial and appellate levels. Richard currently serves as Town Attorney to the Town of Yorktown, where he provides counsel to the Supervisor and Board members on matters such as zoning, land use, foreclosure, and negligence. Richard represents clients in Estate matters, in bankruptcy, both debtors and creditors, in foreclosure matters, in debt restructuring, both personal and commercial, in real estate matters, including land use and zoning, in real estate transactional matters, both commercial and residential and as settlement agent for various lenders. Richard also advises clients in Elder Care. Employment Discrimination
Vigorous advocacy is provided to employees aggrieved by unlawful employment discrimination; for those facing suspension or termination of employment, and for those who are denied the payment of proper wages, including overtime wages. As well, counsel is provided to employers seeking to adopt a “best practices” approach to employee relations, and has drafted employee handbooks, sexual harassment prevention policies and conducted training and position classification audits to ensure that employees are correctly classified as exempt (salaried) or non-exempt (entitled to the payment of overtime wages) and that the use of independent contractors does not run afoul of applicable labor laws. Counsel has also defended employers accused of violating applicable state and federal labor and employment laws.
Sexual Harassment
Ms. Mulligan has held distinguished positions during her decades long practice in the area of Labor & Employment law including Director of Equal Employment Opportunity for the New York City Department of Correction, service on a New York City Mayoral Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, and service on a Gubernatorial Round Table on matters of gender discrimination. Ms. Mulligan has also been called upon to testify before a U.S. Congressional Subcommittee examining the impact of attorney representation on cases pending before the New York State Division of Human Rights.

Real Estate Litigation
John Buckley is of counsel to the Oxman Law Group where he concentrates his practice on corporate, high tech startup, tax, government incentives and real estate matters. John began his legal career in IBM as a State and Local Tax Counsel and rose to eventually become General Counsel to MiCRUS, an IBM joint venture, and its successor company Philips Semiconductor Manufacturing, Inc. During his time in IBM, John supervised litigation and lobbying across the United States challenging the property taxation of computer software. He also negotiated a series of Industrial Development Agency Transfer Agreements in New York which generated tens of millions of dollars in tax savings. Following his IBM career, John served as Deputy and then Town Attorney for the Town of Yorktown where he provided contract, zoning, land use, foreclosure, utility franchise agreement and board governance counsel to the Town Supervisor and Town Board. John is admitted to both the New York Bar and the U.S. Tax Court.
Eminent Domain
The Oxman Law Group is experienced in the representation of cities, towns, villages and counties in a wide variety of municipal-related matters.
