Founded in 1899 to serve the needs of the municipal utility needs of residents in Westfield, Mass., Westfield Gas & Electric provides gas service to nearly 10,000 customers and electric service to more than 17,000 customers. The company's vision is to remain a community energy service provider focused on competitive prices, reliability, and the expansion and improvement of its services and products. The company will achieve this vision by capitalizing on its core business competencies and efficiencies, developing key strategic alliances and investing in technology. The Municipal Light Board is the governing board of Westfield Gas & Electric and provides management oversight of the department. Six Westfield community members serve on the Municipal Light Board.
