Teeth Cleaning
Brushing and flossing regularly are important for the prevention of gum disease in addition to routine dental cleanings. Having your teeth cleaned every six months is the best way to prevent gum disease and also helps to address any problems which might occur in a timely manner.
Dental Sealants

Fillings
No, although it has many benefits, air abrasion is not always the ideal approach. Because the crystals produce a very smooth tooth surface, air abrasion can only be used with composite tooth-colored fillings, not with metal amalgam fillings which require a rougher surface for adhesion. Other restorations like inlays and onlays also require the use of a drill. In addition, patients with very sensitive teeth or deep decay may have discomfort during an air abrasion procedure and may still require a local anesthetic.
Resin Composite
Holistic dentistry refers to care which takes into account the health of the patient as a whole instead of focusing on their oral and dental needs alone. The systems in our bodies are interconnected and often when an issue affects one part of our bodies, it can cause unwanted effects in other areas as well. Holistic dentistry ensures any oral health treatment which is performed won’t interfere with or cause ill effects to other areas of a patient’s body. A good example of a holistic practice is the use of composite fillings instead of mercury-based metal amalgam fillings. Mercury exposure poses serious health risks and using composite resins helps avoid those potential risks for better overall health.
Veneers
Depending on the location of the crack and how extensive it is, a cracked tooth may be repaired with a veneer, bonding, or a crown. Dr. Rathee also provides biomimetic treatment for cracked teeth. Biomimetic dentistry addresses weak, decay, or cracked teeth by sealing them against bacteria and repairing fractures from inside the tooth helping them to remain strong. Instead of traditional methods which don’t always take the overall dental health of a patient into account and often don’t take advantage of advanced adhesives and ceramics, biomimetic techniques can avoid 60 to 90% of crowns and root canals. Conservative fillings or ceramic onlays, which look and function more like a person’s natural tooth, are used instead of crowns. These treatments help patients avoid developing future problems with the tooth by preventing infections and bonding the tooth to prevent additional cracks.

Drill-free dentistry uses a technique called air abrasion to remove tooth decay without the need for a drill. The technique uses a special instrument designed to emit a high-powered stream of aluminum oxide particles which “wear away” the decayed portion, preparing the tooth for a restoration like a filling or crown.

The term dental implant refers to the strong post, which is used to support an artificial tooth or crown. In recent years, implants have emerged as a very popular alternative to replace missing teeth because they are designed to feel and function just like a natural tooth. Implants can also be used to anchor dentures to help avoid slippage and ensure the most secure fit. The implants are designed to last as long as a natural tooth and can be applied in about three visits.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are supposed to last a lifetime with proper care and dental hygiene. They are known for extreme durability and advances in both the materials and the implant techniques have made damage a very rare occurrence. However, some patients who have implants believe that because the tooth and the metal “root” portion are artificial, they are impervious to issues like gum disease that affect natural teeth. Bacteria that cover the tooth surface and cause gums to recede or to become inflamed cause gum disease, also called gingivitis. Gum disease eventually causes infection in the tissues that surround the implant post, resulting in the post becoming loose or even causing the bone around the implant to wear away. As a result, untreated gum disease is a common cause of implant damage.
