Econo Auto Painting in West Columbia, SC did an excellent and professional paint job on my 2000 Ford Ranger. The paint service was done very quickly and the price was unbeatable. I highly recommend them. Satisfied customer.

Customer Beware!!!! Total Rip Offs!!!!

June 24, 2017 I took my car to Econo Auto Painting at 1527 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia (803)794-0990 to get it painted since I bought it at an audition and it had chipped paint on the hood, roof, as well as, showing rust spots on the roof. I paid $367.60 for the paint job. In December 2017 I noticed the paint was bubbling up on the hood. So I stop by the shop to show the new manager the spots. The two guys I dealt with before were no longer working there. He told me to bring my receipt the next day and he would take care of it for me. The next day I showed up with the receipt and he told me that he was not going to do anything. I asked for the area managers' phone
number. He gave me the wrong number. I then called Econo Paint at 2412 Decker Blvd.
(803)-788-0555 and asked for Mitch Clark (the area manager ) to call me. When he called the next day I took the car over to Decker Blvd. Store with the receipt for him to look at the car. He told me that the shop on Sunset did not prep the car right. The hood, roof, and trunk lid needed to be sanded. He said he would re-paint it as is,but it will bubble again. To fix it right it would cost me another $150.00 plus $30.00 to fix a dent on the trunk lid that I had missed telling them the first time. The total would be $187.00. I also pointed out that I wanted where I had put some emblems on each side of the front fenders sanded, as well as, make sure that the bottom of the door where a mechanic had scratch the first paint job putting a door actuator in. Mitch and the General Manger Mike said they would take care of it for me.
After spending $64.00 round trip for cab fare January 8, 2018 the job was not done right. I complained to Mitch Clark and he said to bring it back February 12, 2018 and he would take care of it. I had moved a little closer to the shop on Decker Blvd. But the cab fare cost $46.00 round trip. The job still was not done right. You can tell where the paint does not match with the car on either side of the fenders! And of course he said he would re-paint but I would have to spend more money on cab fare. These guys don't care about me being satisfied. They prove that by not listening to my concerns. Both cab drivers and another person told me that I should not have paid for the prep work $187.00 that was on them they did not prep the car right the first time. I knew that myself but was wanting to get the car done right without a battle. Update: I have just discovered that they did not even sand the roof as part of the $187.00 that I paid!!
I called Corporate Office (352)-754-3050 Wednesday February 14,2018 to speak Mitch Clark Supervisor Mr. Hood. (772)-465-9444. He called me around 9:45 am. I told him I wanted the car repainted over and I wanted my cab far paid. He told me that he was not going to pay for cab fare that I could walk. That is not the way to treat a Disabled customer who is going for a Total Left Hip Replacement March 13, 2018 and who has bone on bone in my left hip, as well as, bone on bone on my left knee with a compression fraction in my back!!!We got into a argument and I hung upon him. It is very apparent that this company does not car about their customers. So I am done taking my car over and over explaining over and over to deaf ears my concerns and wasting and lot of money in Taxi Cab fares. So my ultimatum is a full refund of the $187.00 for the sanding and prep work that should have be done the first time as told to me by other people,as well as, the $110.00 that I spent in taxi-cab fares, plus the $367.50 spent in June. Total compensation $664.50. Econo Paint and Body Works is a total rip-off!!!

You get what you paid! I regret I made a decision to do it here. They quote me $600 for a job, other decent shops asked for $1100. Yes, it saves me 500 bucks but the quality is marginal. This is definitely not a factory-quality paint and body repair. The finish is different from oem painting. And their body repair is not good either. The edge of the rear panel is not parallel with the rear door. I just hope the paint could last but not crack in a month.

Sloppy "Professionals"

For $400 bucks I didn't expect a great job but I at least thought it would be decent. What I got was sloppy mess of a paint job by a bunch of so called professionals who were in too much of a rush to do the job right.

You get EXACTLY the paint job ...

You get EXACTLY the paint job you pay for. If you expect someone to paint your whole car for $350 and it look factory, then you're a moron. There's GOING to be flaws. Good paint can easily cost $300/gallon, hell, primer costs $100/gallon. And a good body man charges $75/hour. Do the math. Factory quality paint jobs cost $4000 or even more. You paid $350. Don't complain. Whatever it looks like.

oh how horible

they want to you to bring in your vehicle and let them do a so called professional job and get it back the next day and then not get it back to you for almost 1 week and when you do get your vehicle back you have to clean up all the old paint inside of your vehicle and put on your tail fin whatever its called. When you are cleaning it and putting on your parts you still see the old paint still in spots. Then less than a month goes by and the paint is cracking all over the place and when you want to take it back to them they want to "SCHEDULE" you another day next month. Which anyone who has a family knows it doesnt work like that it has to be when its convient for you and your family. what it is is that they have already gotten your money $350 and now you are not a "paying customer" so they put you off as much as they can!!!!! Im not the first or last person this company has ripped off i have found serveral others now after the fact too
