Waterloo Junior High School enrolls students in grades six through eight. It offers classes in language arts, reading, math, science and social studies. The school operates a student council and drama and chess clubs. It conducts field trips and offers various sports activities, such as baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. Additionally, the school has a library and media center that stock a variety of books, magazines and periodicals, as well as organizes several musical contests. Located in Waterloo, Ill., Waterloo Junior High School is governed by Waterloo Community Unit School District 5, which also operates several elementary and high schools. The district s schools provide special education services to students with learning disabilities.
