Waterbury Hospital is a private, nonprofit acute care teaching hospital. It is a 360-plus-bed facility atht offers a range of primary care, cardiac and behavioral health services. The hospital serves the residents of western Connecticut. Waterbury Hospital is a full-service, community health care institution that is affiliated with the Yale School of Medicine, University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Connecticut Children s Medical Center. Founded in 1890, Waterbury Hospital performs more than 6,000 outpatient surgeries annually. It offers bronchoscopy, arteriogram preparation, cardiac catheterization recovery, magnetic resonance imaging and CT scan services. The hospital operates a 35-plus-bed medical intensive care and telemetry unit. Waterbury Hospital additionally manages the Behavioral Health of Waterbury Hospital.
