Merchant's Tire and Auto Service Center

Would give less than a 1 if possible.My car was rejected with their inspection for a single wiper blade and a battery hold down. The car battery was replaced 3 yrs ago and has always passed. This merchants wanted us to buy a new battery. And its fine. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM this franchise!!!! A TOTAL RIPOFF!!!

I needed a last minute oil change before a trip to OBX for my anniversary. I stopped here first because it's closest to my house and asked how long it would take, and was told about 1 to 1 and a half hours. This was already a little later than I wanted, but I understand that they have scheduled appointments, and the man told me there were only two people in front of me, so I thought it wouldn't make much of a difference if I stayed there versus trying somewhere else. I drop the car off and take care of a few chores while I wait. After two hours, my boyfriend and I are antsy to leave, so I call and ask about how much longer it will be. The woman then told me that there was one car on the board in front of me. I said "Okay, so I was quoted an hour and a half, it's been TWO hours, and you're telling me that you haven't even started yet?" to which she simply says "Yes, there's someone in front of you." I told her I needed to be on my way so I was just going to come and pick it up. When I entered the store and asked for my key, all she said was "You must be the young lady I just spoke to," and continued to type up whatever she had been working on despite the fact that I was obviously in a hurry, the only one in the store, and they had already wasted two hours of my time. She finished after another moment, reached just behind her to where my key was hanging, and placed it on the counter without a word. No "I'm sorry for any inconvenience," no "is there anything we can do?" Nothing. She obviously didn't care about the loss of business or the fact that they had wasted my time. I will not be returning there or to any Merchant's Tire locations. The amount of terrible reviews this location has received over the years leads me to believe that Merchant's does not care at all about customer service.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!! Unless of course you like being ripped off!!!! They will find something wrong with your car that is a total lie. The people there are totally incompetent. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I promise you will be glad you did.

The quality of the work is gone. They have lost my business forever
