Black Gold Coffee Roasters

I spend almost 4-6 days here a week for lunch and sometimes even breakfast, 1-2 hours at a time, and have done so for almost a year. I love Black Gold.

For one, I never liked coffee just over a year and a half ago. I continued to try it over and over again, and just could not get into it. I was referred to Black Gold by a few close friends and have since become an avid coffee lover/addict. There is simply no better coffee (especially cold-brew) anywhere in Sarasota County. As far as I've seen, from here all the way to the top rated coffee shops in Orlando.

Gary the owner hand selects the coffee beans from other countries, after putting several beans through tests and picking the best ones. Within one month, I went from hating the taste of coffee, to drinking every cup of coffee I have as strong, black coffee. I honestly can't stand cream or sugar in this coffee because the taste is so pure and good and unique.

It absolutely blows my mind that people will pay 4-8 dollars for any drink from Starbucks, but either haven't heard of Black Gold or just don't want to get away from the mainstream coffee.

DRINKS:
My absolute favorite is the Frosted Winter Liquid Crack. It's a version of their strong cold brew coffee. There is nothing like it, if you need a caffeine fix, this is better than 8 shots of espresso (Yes I've tried both). Hands down.
The cappuccinos are very good, any of the espresso drinks are very good.
Every now and then I get the cup of the day, (they have decaf, light and strong) and I always opt for the strong.
Sitting down in Black Gold with the cup of the day, and reading a book or having a conversation / business get-together is just wonderful. The atmosphere is perfect and everyone is very friendly. This is my go-to for any breakfast or lunch with someone else.

FOOD:
The food is incredible. I haven't tried as much as I should, but they have the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had anywhere.
*TIP: (Order a Vegetarian Nightmare on an Asiago cheese bagel)
As far as lunch goes, I've heard nothing but great things about the sandwiches and the salad. Again, I'm not a salad person but it's good here.
The panini's are awesome.
I can't stress enough, order a Vegetarian Nightmare.

COFFEE BEANS:
My house is continuously stocked with any variation of Honduras, Papa Nu Guinea (spelling?), Colombian, Costa Rican, or the Holiday blend. I drink this coffee every morning, even when I get home from work. Absolutely amazing, Gary does an excellent job of picking the beans out.

In all the time I've spent in Black Gold, I never once have seen anything other than kindness towards the customers. The owner and several of the employees are always friendly and I've yet to see a disgruntled guest.

If you are in Sarasota county, stopping by, driving by on the highway, or even out of the county, Black Gold is worth the trip.

I would say their coffee is the best in the whole area and you have to have a Freeze..omg...delicious without being over sweet. Go for the small french press for two and have lunch or a snack!!!
