Overall

Backyard Sports Academy (BSA=BullSh%t Academy). This organization does not even deserve ONE star. They “dismissed” a 10-year old boy recently, who I know very well, and put his heart and soul into every practice, every game, because he also played on a city league team. I know, for a fact, that there are other kids who play on both Backyard's travel baseball team and a city league team. They were on his team. However, he missed a couple of Backyard's practices for regular season city league game and a couple of games for his Aunt's wedding, which his played a huge part in, and for his recent city league playoff game. He was dismissed over a text message. Very unprofessional. I thought that this co-owner was once a semi-professional himself, however, he treats young athletes like they are in high school or college, like they have no feelings and they work them to tears and/or puke. I have seen this with my own eyes. This 10-year old boy was told that he was a prime example to his teammates and that he should be a leader. So, he stepped up and showed his potential and was a leader. He was nominated to GotEm's baseball player of the week when he just turned 9 years old and showed his athleticism through every game. There wasn't a player or a parent that disliked this kid because he is humble and has a great attitude. Through school, this year alone he received three major awards, including one for being the best student in his class and one for being on the principle's GOLD honor roll. Just a few examples to show you what a great kid he is... And this is how they treated him. Dismissed over a text message. No other answers. No other conversations. Done. Broke his little heart. Now he can no longer play with his Backyard teammates and many parents were saddened by this. I would NOT recommend any one, with a heart, take their child to this horrible organization. I want this kid to know that he is worth something and that he did the best that he could ever do, and all he ever did was love baseball. I thought that, even as a parent, a coach, that they would teach these young kids the importance of family... or even the opportunity to be on multiple teams. They are TEN... not eighteen. Do what you can. Say what you will. I would NEVER recommend this place again.
