The department was founded in 1905. It has books of various writers, including John Grisham, Willie Morris, Donna Tartt, Larry Brown, Bobbie Ann Mason, William Raspberry, James Autry, William Ferris, Sarah Gilbert, Ellen Douglas and John Armistead. Reed's Department Store also has locations in Downtown Starkville and Columbus, Miss.
