Can't get appointments

It is almost impossible to get appointments with the Doctor. The front office staff will rudely tell you that there are no appointments available for three or four weeks. You are usually going to see your primary care physician because you have an illness that needs to be looked into immediately. It is not like you are having an elective surgery so you can schedule your appointment at the convenience of the doctor and the patient. Very disappointed with the response one gets when one calls the front office with an illness that needs immediate attention. Someone with a serious injury or high fever does not need to be directed to go to the emergency room or to be told that the next available appointment is at the minimum three weeks out. Extremely disappointed with how a primary care physician treats their patients.

Misdiagnosis!

My wife went to see Dr. Lebron during her pregnancy in summer of 2007 after having 2 high glucose tests and being diagnosed as gestationally diabetic. We only went to see her because the specialist my wife's OBGYN referred us to was on vacation during July 4th and Dr. Lebron was close by and accepted our insurance. Without even taking the time to get to know my wife, contact her OBGYN, or really even review her chart whatsoever, Dr. Lebron was ready to put my wife on insulin treatment and said that was the only option for the rest of her pregnancy. She also told my wife she would be diabetic for life and started going on about al the health risks to the baby - not what any expectant parent wants to hear! We were outraged and walked out of the office. We did our research beforehand and nothing she was saying matched what we had read. My wife's OBGYN was outraged as well and had us go to the Diabetes Treatment Center within Torrance Memorial Hospital. They were amazing and spent so much time educating us and gave my wife a monitor and supplies. Basically, they did what they should have! I am pleased to say my wife was able to control her condition with diet and exercise, and it went away after the pregnancy, and our little boy is amazing!

Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed with our experience with Dr. Lebron, and I would think twice about going to see her - you may end up on a treatment you don't need. This just emphasizes that people need to remember they are in control of their own healthcare and you need to do your own research and educate yourself!
