Athena's Family Restaurant

I’ve been living in the area for a while, and have heard about this place through my family and decided to give it a try a month ago on a busy Saturday night. It was an interesting experience but I am never returning back. Do not get me wrong, the food was excellent and came out very quickly despite how many tables were filled and the host and waitress that took care of me were lovely. However, the management is what ruined my chance of coming back. The owner Paul was absolutely absurd and rude to his staff in the front, along with the staff in the kitchen. You could hear him scream at them from the other end of the restaurant and laugh it off by saying he’s just loud. Sure he’s loud, but there is a different between raising your voice and disrespect- and he was undeniably being disrespectful. The environment he creates for the staff is anything but supportive and welcoming and I am impressed the staff was able to work well under those stressful circumstances. They were all doing their best to keep up and make everyone’s dining experience enjoyable, but I noticed one man was focusing more on speaking to all the tables rather than helping his coworkers clean tables and run out food which made the restaurant more chaotic in my opinion. Although I think customer interaction is important- what he was doing came across as ignorant. If I were you, I would come in on a weekday and pray the owner isn’t there or order takeout- that way you can enjoy the delicious food without any of the negative aspects.

This is a great place to bring a family for dinner. All the food has been great and the staff treats you like you actually matter.

Athena's on young street offers a wide variety of choices at prices that are uncomparable!!! The staff knows their customers by name and provides a friendly atmosphere.

This place rocks! The food is great and the prices are excellent. The staff is very nice and accomodating. A great place to bring the family.
