Thurmont Middle School enrolls more than 600 students in grades six through eight and is a part of Frederick County Public Schools. It employs a staff of trained custodians, administrators, guidance counselors, speech therapists and reading tutors. The school provides special programs in Spanish, art, music, theater, and technology and physical education. Thurmont Middle School operates a parent-teacher association that encourages parental involvement in children s education and sponsors various fundraising events and activities. It provides math and reading intervention programs. Thurmont Middle School also has a student-government association that plans and organizes student activities. The school is located in Thurmont, Md.
