The veterinarians are assisted by a team of trained and qualified kennel attendants who look after our canine donors 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Kennel attendants are formally trained in animal husbandry and welfare, obedience training and basic veterinary monitoring and treatment.
Equiplas® R (Equine IgG & Rhodococcus Equi Antibody, Equine Origin) is USDA-licensed for the treatment of failure of passive transfer (FPT) and/or as an aid in the management and control of respiratory disease associated with Rhodococcus equi. The minimum IgG content is 2400 mg/dl. This product is intended for use in foals less than 6 months of age and is supplied in 950ml bags.
Plasma donors must be free of agglutinins and hemolysins to common red cell antigens. Each donor must also test negative for antibodies to EIA, EVA, glanders, dourine, piroplasmosis and brucellosis. Donors are also screened for the presence of TDAV, the Non-Primate Hepacivirus (Equine Hepacivirus [EHCV]), Equine Parvovirus, and Equine Pegivirus (EPgV).
