Overall

My initial consultation with Michael Clark was very pleasant and I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I was charged with 6 counts of felony theft; brought by my abusive ex-husband’s mother. I had to borrow the $6k flat fee; and after meeting with him, and reading reviews about his work, I was pretty adamant that I had found the perfect lawyer for me. Our interaction over the next 6 months proved me terribly wrong. The nebulous; but glorious reviews on his website speak of reduced charges, dropped charges & “best results ever” as a result of his legal representation. I began with (6) felony charges and ended with (3) felony charges and fail to see his accomplishment or my advantage….I have a felony on my record; I don’t care if it’s one or six, a felony is a felony. To this point, I do not even have a traffic violation on my record. Further, and of much more importance to me, I am very unsatisfied with the manner in which Mr. Clark addressed me. Of course, I was extremely emotional during this period. I am being charged with a felony against a man who was verbally and physically abusing me for ten years. Mr. Clark showed no compassion whatsoever and at one point even told me that the charges against my ex were “just misdemeanors.” Mr. Clark would request that I send him evidence and I did so via e-mail. He never responded to those e-mails; nor did he ever mention the evidence to me or anyone else. After my pre-sentence hearing, Mr. Clark told me to request character reference letters from my friends & relatives and he would read them at my sentence hearing. I know of eight letters that were sent to Mr. Clark and some of them were sent to the judge prior to my hearing; not one of them was read in court; and approximately three were handed to the judge as we sat down in front of him. I am a professional woman, retired from 35 years as a Boeing Manager and am considered very intelligent. At my sentence hearing, Mr. Clark told me THREE times not to make faces when the letters were being read by my ex’s family. Really? If he had said it once, I would have found it offensive; but, by the third time, I felt his behavior was totally condescending. I would not recommend Mr. Clark for the reasons stated; however, that doesn’t mean he may be what someone else is looking for.

Overall

My wife and I hired Mr. Clark to assist our daughter with a DV/assault case. I had never worked with a lawyer before and did not know what to expect. He was recommended by a local Bail Bondsman - that was some of the best advice I have received in years. While still maintaining the client/attorney confidendiality, he kept my wife and I informed about the processes much as he could. We were in court twice and both times he was cleary the best lawyer in the room. His expertise, confidence and experience clearly shined. I almost felt sorry for some of the other people who had someone else representing them - the difference is the way he handled himself in court and worked with the judge was cleary evident. In the end, the charges were dismissed - and it is all thanks to Michael. Without him, this would not have happened. Absolutely worth the money. If I ever need an attorney in this area again, I already know the phone number to call. - Edit Review
