I was appalled when I went into the kennel area. The dobermans in there were crazed! They were jumping to the roof and down in circles. These dogs are suffering terribly. Nina Culver is a hoarder, like the others in this forum stated.
Some homeless looking old man took me through the kennel, and I asked him if the dogs ever get out for a walk. He looked and me and said 'No way, we don't walk these dogs , their crazy!'
Some have been in these cages for years. I have been following this woman and her dogs and the same dogs are always available. This is a terrible injustice. if you could just see the desperation in thier eyes, for dobermans are highly intelligent dogs that always need a job to do, to protect the home or your children, or walk with you. Always proudly by your side. They are working dogs that this woman has jailed and kept in solitary confinement with no love or understanding of the breed. It breaks my heart to see these dogs so desperate to escape this horrendous life this Doberman Rescue 401K has created for these beautiful and willing working dogs. Please text me at 619-735-8872 if you wish to help me free these dogs from the grip of this mad woman. It is severe cruelty and I choose to fight for them. They are beautiful and they deserve a chance. If you could only see them, how sad and panicked they were...

This woman has “Zero” interest on finding a home for these poor dogs. Just try leaving a message and see if anybody calls you back. Place looks like a pigs stall. Is only a matter before the Humain Society gets involved. Beware!

I have known Nina Culver for many years. I have gotten 4 Dobermans from her. I know she is very careful whom the dogs go to. We have walked through the kennel and looked at dogs. They are each housed in individual runs and the cleaning and feeding plus vet trips and trips to buy food keep her busy all day long and into the night. She works 24/7 and even was out there hosing down dog runs when she had a broken leg. I don't know how she does it financially. What she provides takes a lot of money. All the dogs are spayed or neutered. Too bad that some people have had bad experiences. I know her aim is to have the dogs placed in a good forever homes. Nina has devoted her life to animals and I would never call her a hoarder. Nina often knows the background of some of the dogs and can give you a idea of the dogs temperament. She is a good judge of the dogs that she has.
My experience with this rescue has been nothing if not positive. I am more the happy to talk to anyone that may want to ask me questions.

Nina Culver is an awesome lady. She has devoted her whole life caring for animals. Started grooming dogs at her home to having a place called Poodle parlor in the valley. Since then she has moved to rescuing dobies and other animals that would most likely have been put to sleep if it wasn't for her . She is the owner and runs it by herself. She has a lot of great dogs and with that we all know means a lot of hard work . She is always on the go and it might take a minute to respond to messages. She is a loving and caring person. I know this because Nina is my mom and for all you negative people

This woman is a hoarder, no ifs and or buts about it. I filled out their online application a month ago and have been calling them ever since. a week ago a woman came out to inspect my fencing and back yard and said it looked real good. But that was it. After calling every day for the last 6 days since the inspection, I got a call back from Nina saying she didn't think there was enough room in my back yard for the dog to run around. I couldn't believe it. It was not supposed to be a yard dog. I wanted him to be a member of the family as my other dobie that passed away at the age of 13. I wanted him to live in the house. This woman said she had 80 to 90 dogs. I dont get it! She has to be a hoarder. Good luck if you want a dog from her. . Its really too bad for all those dogs that are missing out on a good home and family to love them. Unbelievable!

This is a third party review! My friends tried to get a dog here and told me they had a similar experience as others on here have apparently endured. This lady does not actually seem to want to adopt out the dogs, or is perhaps too busy to get them adopted? It's a slippery slope from animal rescue to animal hoarding according to Animal Planet lol. I appreciate anyone who does animal rescue, but if you don't make the time to get them adopted then what's the point of saving them in the first place? I hope someone regularly inspects the dogs' area for overcrowding and sanitation purposes. Hopefully no one else has these issues and may all the dogs find good homes quickly. On the plus side, the adoption application on the website is outstandingly thorough and I wish all adoption agencies put that much thought into their process!

This is my grandmother's rescue she has owned way before I was born. This is here pride and joy and has missed numerous family holidays due to her taking care of these dogs who had no hope. She is extremely busy and yes you would be to with running a business like this. She's constantly at the vet, pet fairs or helping rescue dogs to take in. So before you people on here want to say mean things about her remember what good deed she is doing for these animals and respect her busy schedule. People need to see the good in what's around them and stop being so negative to someone who's only helping. I grew up helping at the rescue and I love every minute of it.

I have know Nina Culver since ...

I have know Nina Culver since the 1980s --and I have found the Doberman Rescue of Los Angeles nothing short of remarkable! Nina has been dedicated to saving dobes for over 40 years with no monetary return but the love and trust of each and every Doberman who crosses her path. Personally I have adopted 3 dogs from her, each and every one a true blessing. I take her advice on which dog is best suited for me and have received nothing but unconditional love from these adoptees. Nina is a special person who understands each dog's needs as well as the potential adopted family's needs. She has told me a few times as we walked through her rescue that the dog I inquire about is not right for me--a fence jumper, etc. I appreciate her insight and knowledge of each dog and have never found that elsewhere. She is a rare person and I thank her for Conan, Tasha and Rudy. They have lit up my life and I will be eternally grateful for having known them!
