Kids First Swim School

My son has taken 3 or 4 sessions in a row. No he hasn't graduated to the next level, but that is because he hasn't learned the skill set needed to advance. This isn't tae kwan do, where everyone is guaranteed a black belt after so many years. This is a real life skill, and it takes as long as it takes. I have found the staff so patient with these young kids and very nice and informative. The place is clean. Convenient location.

I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, but my kids have been going to Swim First for the past year and a half and absolutely love it. They started in level 1, and both are now in level 5 (8 levels altogether). The instructors are give out a "report card" at about week 5 or 6 or so of *every* 8 week session, so I'm not sure how in the world you couldn't be updated about your child's progress. And believe me, everyone at the desk DOES remind the parents to sign up for the next session. My gosh, if they didn't, the school wouldn't make any money!



The site is clean (albeit humid) and there are a line of (clean) chairs that perch right in front of a two-way mirror so you can watch your child during his/her class. There are group classes, semi-private, and private lessons. My kids did well in both the classes and in semi-private lessons. And if your child enjoys working with a particular instructor, you can request that teacher to work with your child.



No child learns to swim overnight, and parents should go into *any* swim school with the understanding that it takes years to master how to swim at an adult level of competency. If you're looking for a conveniently located good swim school, my family has found this one well worth the price.

You get what you pay for. I enrolled my child in a program and she seemed to really enjoy it. However I do not feel she has gained a ton of skill at the end of the 8 weeks. An instructor never once updated me on her progress. The viewing area for parents is dirty and muggy. The place does not seem clean at all. But I shrugged it off because it is conveniently located to my house. At the end of 8 weeks no one notified me it was time to renew and continue with the program. I am a busy mom with several children so I did t realize our sessions were up. No one notified me so I showed up at our normal time and day. I was informed everyone was told it was the last class, that it was in my child's report card and "it's written on the board". Never once did anyone tell me anything about a board. A board that is placed behind the vending machines. I would think if it was an informational board it would be put somewhere people can actually see it. I never even recieved my child's report card. Ok, fine no big deal, again it's close to home and my kid enjoyed it. So I wanted to re sign up while I was there. NOPE class was full. Needless to say I had a child in tears and we will not be returning. I cannot even find an email address to contact anyone concerning this. If I call I will just get the same unhelpful front desk staff, and after how rude they were to me, no thank you. Don't waist your hard earned money and sign your children up at Tom Dolan swim school. My experience there was nothing short of amazing. It looks like I will be taking the extra time to drive there from now on
