First of all there should be a minus star rating. This vet does not deserve even one star!

This Vet signed the Certificate of Health for a Shire colt we bought in North Dakota. He was supposed to do an exam to ensure the colt was healthy as well as comply with the receiving state transport guidelines. After speaking to the vet himself I was told that he did not do a temp on the colt to ensure the colt was not over 102 before entering the state of Georgia. The colt's legs were swollen like tree trunks yet the vet told me he did not feel nor examine the colt's legs. The colt was tested positive for Strangles which was not found during the examination even though the colt's extremely swollen legs could have been an indicator. The colt has confirmed OCD in his stifles which his extremely swollen legs could have indicated at least the need for xrays before any transport or Certificate of Health is issued. This vet told me personally over the phone that the colt was jumping around so he as not able to do a complete examination and yet he signed and approved the Certificate of Health. Evidently a 4 month old foal with leg swollen like tree trunks causing him to move slowly and with obvious pain was too much for a licensed vet to handle even though this colt has not moved around more than 25 feet in an entire day in the three months we have had him. The colt also had to be wormed immediately, was very under weight and was infested with lice/fleas and ticks all of which was not observed by this licensed veterinarian prior to issuing a Certificate of Health. Based on the above disgusting and unforgivable facts I would highly recommend that his services NOT be used in any fashion regarding any equine whatsoever! This poor foal deserved better.

I am a first time client and I literally just got back from taking my cat in. The vet answered my call at 2 in the morning and after describing his symptoms immediately asked me to come over even though I'm 45 minutes away and ended up getting there at 330 in the morning. Extremely helpful, upfront about prices, very honest and sympathetic about the possibility of my cat's death through this operation (UTI and anesthesia required). The only vet clinic within a 50 mile radius that claimed to be an emergency clinic that answered the phone and/or offered to see him before regular hours. I highly recommend this vet clinic especially for emergency situations.

First of all, I think the previous review is unfair for Steele Vet. If they want to blame somebody for their colt's poor health, they should blame the transport company.

As for myself and my brother, we are happy with what Steele Vet does for Dogs. For the most part, they accepted both Hunter and Sammy after their previous vet closed. They have been generally supportive and helpful in their care and we love Steele Vet for that.
