Provided by DexKnowsThere's multiple reasons to avoid this company, both as a potential renter, and as a property owner looking for rental management.First, the receptionist Kay lacks customer service skills. She seemed annoyed when I would call to check on the status of our application and was unfriendly overall. The owner, Susan, isn't much better, suggesting I was bugging her when I called twice in the same day with questions about the property! If I was a property owner, these people ARE NOT who I would want representing me for my rental property.Second, when we put in our application for a beautiful piece of country property, I was told we would have an answer on our rental application "shortly," and it took them TWO weeks - I put in the application on Wednesday, I called on Friday, they said Monday or Tuesday. I called Wednesday, they said by the end of the week. I called Friday, they said Monday or Tuesday. Kay seemed annoyed every time I called to check on our application.Third, their rental criteria is very stringent. They told me they couldn't accept my wife's handwritten paycheck stubs (she works for her parents small business) until I explained it was an actual incorporated business and they just do their own payroll. We also rented from our parents for 15 of the last 16 years, and we were told renting from relatives isn't an acceptable reference (Keystone didn't even call to talk to them). After two weeks, when I finally managed to reach the owner of Keystone, (Susan), She told me we were denied, because there were three things on the application screening she didn't like. However, two of the three reasons she gave us were NOT actual reasons for denial listed on the criteria form. She said we needed TWO rental references, but the form only stated "current and previous rental history for the past five years." She also claimed we were borderline on income, but the criteria states "2.3 to 3.0 times the monthly rental amount," and our income was 2.7 times the rent. The last thing was she said there was something on my wife's credit report that looked bad, but would not tell us what it was. From the property owner standpoint, we talked extensively to the owner of the property and she told us she thought we were a good fit and wanted us in there (we even helped her with some cleanup of the property because we thought we were getting it). However, Keystone did a very poor job advertising her property. They NEVER listed her property on their website (like their website says it does for vacant units they manage), and only created one Craigslist ad (with just a couple exterior pictures) that expired and they never renewed it. The owner had to create her OWN Craigslist ad with a good description, which was the ad WE found and called on.In summary, if you're looking to rent, and Keystone is managing it, I suggest looking for a different home unless you like being treated poorly. If you own property, DO NOT have Keystone manage it or try to get it rented for you, in my opinion they don't work very hard to get a place rented and they're not who I would want representing my property.

Provided by DexKnowsWe have been renting from Keystone for over 2 1/2 years now. By far, the most professional and respectful landlords we have ever rented from! I would highly recommend renting from them.
