Dixie Queen

When visiting the Memphis area during Elvis Week we stayed at the hotel next to Dixie Queen on Pepper Chase Drive in South Haven, MS. On one of the days we had a limited amount of time to eat dinner, so we thought we would stop by Dixie Queen for a “quick” meal to take back to our room.

I was unimpressed when we walked in. The place was dirty and had a bad smell. If we hadn’t been in a hurry I would have left before ordering.

We were the ONLY customers in the store. It took almost 25 minutes for our order of a double cheeseburger combo, chili cheese fries and an order of coleslaw.

Once we got the order we ran out of the store and back to the room to eat a rushed meal. There was no coleslaw in the bag. My husband was already angry because we were running late but he ran back across the street to get the coleslaw we had paid for….when he got back and opened his burger, it was NOT what he ordered! It was a single cheeseburger with bacon. I took one bite of the slaw and it was sour!

Needless to say, we will NEVER go there again, even though I plan to be back at the hotel in October.

Would like to a receipt...The food is always good and hot. The telephone number is different than listed. Nice owner, but where is the football pictures on the wall....lol Excellent customer service and friendly.
