Dr. Alfred Lee is a board certified Gastroenterologist. He is a graduate of the University of Rochester and New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Medical College of Virginia. He was then selected for a competitive fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Medical College of Virginia. Upon completion of his medical training, Dr. Lee served as Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Virginia. In addition to teaching, he actively participated in research with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease and biliary endoscopy such as ERCP. Dr. Lee joined Richmond Gastroenterology in 1989. He cares for patients with a full range of gastrointestinal and liver concerns. He has a special interest in treating patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. He is skilled in performing endoscopic procedures including Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy (EGD), and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
