Overall

I was advised to go here a while back and couldn't believe the treatment I got!!! Lets just say I have been going here for while now. The front office staff is always friendly. I have seen both Dr. Bruce and Dr. Ryan Johnson at different times for multiple items such as adjustments, therapy, and acupuncture. They are always very patient and show a genuine concern for what is going on. I have seen a couple other chiropractors over time but have always ended back at Johnson Chiropractic. They are what you should expect in a chiropractor plus some!

Overall

Worst experience I have ever had in a professional establishment. I left Johnson Chiropractic and Acupuncture feeling like I was taken advantage of financially. A girlfriend and I decided to go together and get acupuncture, my treat. We filled out our insurance paperwork and were taken back separately. I started out with a spinal scan, that I never heard any feedback from. Then the secretary said that they needed to take some "pictures". She took me into an x-ray room. I stopped her there and said that we were just here for acupuncture and said that there was no need for an x-ray. She said that they needed to do an x-ray to make sure that everything was aligned before doing the acupuncture. I asked her how much it would cost and she told me that it would be covered under my insurance. I told her that we were here for acupuncture ONLY and that I was also paying for my friend and that I would NOT have her getting x-rays or any other treatment that they deemed "necessary". She said that she would go make sure that the doctors knew that and left the room. She came back and said that she had relayed the message and said that we still needed to do the x-rays but they would be absolutely free. After the x-rays, I had the acupuncture done, which calmed me down a bit, but then the doctor went over my x-rays and said that nothing was seriously wrong with my neck, but that I should still get adjustments. That concluded my treatment. Afterwards, I met up with my friend and asked her what they all did to her. She told me that they had used electrodes, gave her an adjustment, and gave her acupuncture!! I was livid. I asked for receipts and an explanation on the cost of every individual thing, which the secretaries were unsure how to break down the costs so I never got a clear answer. She did, however, say that my insurance covered the cost of the x-rays by taking money out of my HSA account. That does NOT mean free. That means that they used $175 that could have been used towards medicine or any other practical care that I actually needed in the future. My friend's insurance had a co-pay of $30 and that brought the bill down to $48. But when the secretaries broke down her bill into individual charges, they discovered that they forgot to charge her for the acupuncture treatment. I assume that they could sense my anger and left that charge alone. I kept my composure and left. This place is an absolute joke. You come for one specific treatment and they dip their hands in their pockets by doing all of these other treatments without your consent or knowledge that it isn't a part of the treatment you had asked for in the first place.
