A wonderful experience for both of our dogs. We just moved to Greenville from out-of-state and had to board our 2 dogs. The first had never before been boarded. The other, although boarded several times, is a very fearful, skittish rescue dog. They ask about the dogs and their behavior, etc. prior to taking them in. Allowing people to take a tour prior to boarding helps ease the minds of fur parents. The kennel is spotlessly clean. It didn''t even smell like a kennel AT ALL. I also like the fact that they bath ALL dogs upon entry. This prevents the spread of fleas and ticks and you can be confident that your dog will come back with no infestations. They truly care about the animals and really get to know them. I absolutely recommend them and without a doubt will return there.

I have taken my Silky Terrier there several times and really like the place. My only complaint is with their fees. I dropped my dog off at 4 pm on a Friday and picked him up at 10 am on Saturday and was charged $49. They charged for the bath, which I am ok with that, and for 2 days boarding; he was there 18 hours. I thought that was ridiculous for the amount of time he was there. The facility is clean and very nice and we will go back, I just wish they would rethink how they charge.

These folks run a great kennel. It is clean, pest free and the owners live on the premises, the pets are not there locked up alone!!

I have boarded my pets several times over the last 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always curteous, the kennels are clean and I've never known another kennel to offer the 'play times' like HiLo does!!

I have nothing but positive experiences with Hi Lo. I have boarded at other kennels. Hi Lo is a family business, the owners live at the kennel. The fee's are reasonable and posted on the Hi Lo website. All kennels charge per day, not for 24 hours and a bath for fleas and ticks is fine with me at a very reasonable cost. The place is spotless; go see for yourself. Everyone at the pet facility is friendly and my dog loves them. The indoor/outdoor runs are much better than large commercial kennels with kennel after kennel inside a cement building. I not only recommend Hi Lo, I would be lost if they were not in business. They really like my dog and my dog really likes them. Always clean and fair.

I'd have to say.....I am thour...

I'd have to say.....I am thouroughly pleased with how this establishment cared for my dogs while they were there over the holiday weekend. At check in they were very pleasant, explaining everything that I had already read on their website when I was searching for a reliable place to keep my companions. The fees are all on the website as well so there are no surprises when you recieve your bill. They gave me a tour before I left and all areas were very clean...no doggie smell, and very attractive as well. I inquired about play times, which are $5.00 extra, but they are running a playtime discount so I got 2 for the price of one!!...the areas are very nice which are about 40 feet by 40 feet and shaded with misting systems and fans!! WOW!! What else can you ask for!! But I didn;t have to pay for that...only if I asked for it, which I thought was well worth it. I didn't see any hidden fees as I read from another review.....I have always had to pay for everything individually no matter wherever I had boarded before. Most places require a bath on exit, but Hi-Lo does theirs on entry which makes sence so they will not have fleas while they are here and my dogs smelled good and were flea free when I picked them up. I understand that when you board you are charged on a daily rate not for a 24 hour time period...that's just how it is done.

The owners happened to be there playing with some of their puppies and were more than accomadating to us and as cordial as could be. I really enjoyed talking with them.

I could not be happier with everything related to this visit and definitely intend to use Hi-Lo Kennels again in the future. 07/10/2011

Boarder Beware of Hi-Lo Kennel...

Boarder Beware of Hi-Lo Kennel: Unprofessional Staff and Hidden Fees!

1. Background: My 37 lb mixed terrier stayed at the Hi-Lo Kennel a mere 22 hours and my bill was an outrageous $49. If this is the kennel of your choosing, be prepared to pay a top-tier rate for a mid- to bottom-tier facility.

2. Check In Confusion: They quickly ushered my dog off to the bath area before explaining my bill would be $49 for a 22 hour stay. I tried to stop them and inquire further into these charges, but she insisted she’d explain shortly. It was obviously too late to turn back. After the fact, it really felt like a bait and switch.

3. Facility Set-Up: The entire dog run was barely large enough for my dog to turn around which added insult to injury when having to pay $49. The inside was damp, stinky and dark.

4. Facility Play Area: Their idea of a play area ($5 extra) is approximately an 8x8 area of gravel. It is genius, really! What dog does not like to play on sharp rocks that quickly turn to hot coals when it is 96 degrees outside.

5. Pricing for Boarding (It is $34 not $17, stupid!): The Hi-Lo Kennel website would be much more intuitive if they just simply stated $34 per night. However, they choose the language of $17 per day which is highly misleading. Please be aware you have other options in the Greenville/Simpsonville area that are cleaner, courteous and worth your hard earned dollars.

6. Pricing for Mandatory Bath ($15): I have had animals my entire 40 years of life and used kennels all over the country. I have never had to pay this charge before. To top it off, I had just had my dog groomed and shaved the prior day and it took the bather all of 5 minutes to bath and dry my dog. The $15 was to include an exit bath, but she was not given one. I had called twice only to get voicemail to inform them I would be picking up my dog. They did not return my messages.

7. Check Out Unprofessional: When I returned a mere 22 hours later, I was forced to swipe my card for $49 buckaroos. What a rip-off! In my quiet frustration, I stepped out of the check-out area to await my dog. I was quite anxious to leave this bad experience in the dust. Meanwhile, a couple approached me. Their affiliation with the kennel was initially unknown. The man asked me if everything was ok. I calmly quizzed why my dog was here for less than 24 hours and my bill was $49. He turned around and left without comment. Then the woman proceeded up to the porch of an adjacent house and attempted to begin an argument with me. Why she had to walk away and scream at me from a distance was quite strange. Perhaps an adult conversation in the immediate area would have been more professional. I then responded, the man asked me what was wrong and I told him. I did not ask for an argument from you. End of story. She, however, continued to scream towards me that I should have known the pricing. I kept my cool and remained silent. My dog was eventually brought out to me and, needless to say, we will never be back to Hi-Lo Kennel.

Excellent Kennel!!!!

I have used Hi Lo for 10 years and have never been disappointed with the any of their services. The facilities are very nice, the staff knowledgeable, and the care our doberman receives superb!! Maggie perks up and her tail starts wagging when I turn in the Hi Lo drive. The staff is also very attentive to her specific needs especially since she is older now and has more health issues. We never worry about her while in their care.

Love It!

I would highly recommend anyone looking to board their pets (dog or cat) come talk and tour with the folks at Hi-Lo.

I have boarded at other facilities and my dogs have come out dirty and smelly......not here, and the extra baths (at a fabulously low price) are a wonderful perk.

My dogs have been comfortable, doted on, and I have been worry-free to leave my guys at Hi-Lo.

All charges are clearly marked on their website, on the phone and prior to entering Hi-Lo.

Superior Four-Legged Resort

I have been taking my "son" George to Hi Lo for 10 years. This year George and his new brother "Bart" whet camping at Hi Lo. I take care of my 2 boys (both mixed breeds) like they are my children and that's the same amount of care given by the kennel owner and her staff at Hi Lo. The kennel is clean and pest free. Dogs are bathed before even going into the main kennel area. The first time I was at Hi Lo I got a tour of where George would stay.

This time George went to Hi Lo with a slight ear infection. We had visited the vet immediately before dropping off the boys with medication for George's ear. When George's ear did not improve as expected, I received notification from Hi Lo immediately so that I could arrange for additional medication. Everything was handled quickly. My boys were given clean and roomy runs and more than ample "play time". They really enjoy being at Hi Lo! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have Hi Lo to care for my boys when I was away. I never worry about them getting exceptional attention, plenty of room to run and play and people that really love dogs.

The charges are very reasonable for the care and special attention given to my boys. Everything is always explained in advance and there are never any surprises when it comes to getting the bill. I even got an email picture of Bart while I was away to show how happy he was at Hi Lo. While there are several closer places for me to board my boys, they will continue to camp at Hi Lo whenever I am away.

RIP OFF. This place is a scam. The owner charged me for Two Days in a 24 hour stay. That's right- each day was counted, not the fact that we arrived at 1:30 and were out by 12:30 the next day. Instead she called it "two days" . Charged another $15 for the 'mandatory' bath (without disclosing the charge beforehand) and then tried to charge for daily "outdoor" time (extra $5). One 24 hour stay = $45/dog. The worst part: my dogs were miserable and couldn't wait to exit the building. Never again. Found excellent options in Simpsonville for less. Keep looking, this place is an expensive dungeon.
