- Promise Hospital of Louisiana, formerly known as Promise Specialty Hospital, is one of the largest long-term acute care facilities in northwest Louisiana. Established in 1992, it features more than 95 beds and over 60 private rooms. The hospital specializes in the medical management of patients with complex, unresolved, chronic and catastrophic illnesses, as well as multisystem disease processes. Promise Hospital of Louisiana s professional staff is comprised of nurses, therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists and case managers. Its clinical services include dialysis, ventilator and wound management, daily physician visits, outpatient counseling, and respiratory, occupational, physical and speech therapies. The hospital provides treatments related to respiratory failure, diabetic ulcers, myocardial infarction, neurovascular disorders and fractures. Additionally, Promise Hospital of Louisiana maintains intensive care and behavioral health units. It is a part of Promise Healthcare, which is a Boca Raton-based corporation that owns and manages hospitals throughout the United States.

The care at this place is horrible, staff and nurses are rude and are not in any rush to assist patient or the family. They work 12 hour shifts and I guess they do the bare minimum to collect a paycheck. The "social workers" are a joke. I would not recommend or send anyone to this place. If there was a star below the one I would choose none at all.
Transitions at Promises is a joke. I had blood from a Hepatitis C positive patient all over my bathroom for 10 days. A filthy dump. Food horrible. Code Blue frequent. Staff lazy. Would not send anyone I cared about to this death trap.
This place should change its name to Promise Hospice-the place where people go to be forgotten and die. Nurses are incompetent and do not care for the patients. Medications are given incorrectly or not at all. The food is horrible and never meets the needs of the diet ordered by the doctor. Management is rude and covers up its employees mistakes. Never go here!
