Canyon Calling Tours

I have just completed the New Zealand trip with Cheryl Fleet/Canyon Calling and it was fantastic! This was my second trip with her and Canyon Calling. The last trip I took with her was back in 2000 the Yellowstone and Tetons which was wonderful as well. I do not understand the negative reviews. I found them not to be the case in my two tours. I can confirm and agree with the positive comments. Cheryl goes out of her way to give you the full experience of travel, shows care and concern, responsive, many restroom breaks and communicates the daily itinerary.

What are you women smokin? I have been on two Canyon Calling trips and have never had a better travel experience. Cheryl manages to do her in-country prep work so well that the trips were almost seamless for the participants. As a trip leader Cheryl works incredibly hard to be culturally sensitive and to take care of her clients. She pays attention to how everyone is doing and helps those who are struggling. She makes it clear from the start what the expectations will be for the trip. If you pay attention to the material she sends out, there are no surprises. I have had two of the best trips of my life with Canyon Calling and would go again in a minute. I find it reprehensible that the two women who wrote these first two reviews have taken to the web to vent about problems that seemed to have more to do with there own inability to get along than with anything either Canyon Calling or Cheryl have done. These reviews are so out of line with anything else you will hear (with the notable exception one one other person with an axe to grind) as to be laughable. What a fantastic set of adventures I have had with this company!

I totally agree with the previous review - I went to Hawaii with Cheryl Fleet and Canyon Calling in 2010. Terrible experiences with Cheryl, much of it the same as she described. I was with 4 other girls, and none of us would ever use Canyon Calling again. The only thing that made the trip good was the other women that I was traveling with. There's plenty of other women's tour groups out there, so beware of this one.

Whatever you do, do not use canyon calling. I just returned from Hawaii with Canyon Calling, and the owner Cheryl Fleet. It was horrible, and the most unpleasant experience. She was rude, unprofessional, inpatient, and constantly swearing. The living accomodations she arranged for us were very, very modest to say the least. Three of the four places were roach infested. One was so musty, the carpet felt wet. Cheryl was constantly talking about politics, how awful the government was and her political views. I was on vacation, I wanted to here about Hawaii. She was rude to the people in Hawaii, and it was embarrassing to be with her. I could go on and on. I will never travel with Canyon Calling again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.
