We have an extremely high success rate (near 95%) for plantar fasciitis and are known for curing even the most severe and extreme cases of heel pain.
Rheumatology
Dr. Haleâ€™s residency program, currently based at Swedish Medical Center-Providence campus, was and still is rated among the top five in the United States and accepts only two residents yearly. This residency program provides extensive clinical and hospital experience in both common and complex conditions of the foot and ankle and many other: radiology, anesthesia, microsurgery, neurology, vascular surgery, rheumatology, emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery and plastic surgery. In addition, Dr. Hale has specialized training in biomechanics and orthotic therapy.
Primary Care
Gout: A sudden onset of intense pain is often due to gout. The pain can be so great that even sheets resting on your foot can hurt. We will see you right away for gout attacks in order to initiate care to eliminate your pain as fast as possible. We will then refer you to your primary care physician for prevention of future gout attacks. Your PCP can also treat acute gout.
Emergency Care
If you have an urgent foot care or ankle problem, we will work to get you into see our Seattle podiatrists right away. Urgent foot care treatment is available during our normal operating hours. If you have an emergency after those hours, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

Radiology
The course of instruction leading to the DPM degree is four years in length. The first two years are devoted largely to classroom instruction and laboratory work in the basic medical sciences, such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology. During the third and fourth years, students concentrate on courses in the clinical sciences, gaining experience in the college clinics, community clinics, and accredited hospitals. Clinical courses include general diagnosis (history taking, physical examination, clinical laboratory procedures, gait analysis, biomechanics, and diagnostic radiology), therapeutics (pharmacology, physical medicine, orthotics, shoes, and prosthetics, surgery, anesthesia, and operative podiatric medicine.

Ingrown Toenails:Â If left untreated ingrown toenails can become infected (or the infection can worsen). A simple procedure to remove the piece of nail sticking into your toe will almost always eliminate your pain and allow healing to start immediately.

Dr. Doug Hale, was one of the few in his field to become double-board-certified. He completed his advanced reconstructive surgery training in Seattle at the Northwest Podiatric Surgical Residency Program in 1991 and is Board-Certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
