discriminating coffee drinkers have long placed sumatra mandheling at the top of the list of the best coffees from sumatra and perhaps the world. originally grown by dutch planters in the 19th century at altitudes of 2, 500 to 5, 000 feet, an elevation they discovered was ideal for coffee production, sumatra mandheling is today cultivated in west-central sumatra near the port of pandang. the syrupy, full body of sumatra mandheling, combined with its muted-acidity, makes an elegant, exotic cup of coffee. the taste of roasted caramel, and hints of chocolate make it truly exotic.

from the shady central highlands of antigua, guatemala, comes a full-bodied coffee classic noted for its balance, nuance, and aroma. we purchase the beans in small lots from established farms in antigua to guarantee the high quality of our beans.

comes from northern tanzania, afria, this coffee offers floral jasmine aroma, bright medium bodied flavor with hints of black currant and a chocolaty finish. tanzania peaberry is a hand-selected, pulped, and fully washed coffee. it is dried on wooden tables with a screened bottom to allow good air circulation at the time of drying. separating the peaberries from the rest of the coffee beans requires the use of special screens and adds time and expense to the grading process. the resulting peaberry coffee is very dense and uniform, resulting in a very focused and consistent flavor.

people love our colombia narino dark for its full, rich, creamy body and rich aroma. we roast it a bit darker to mellow the brightness and add a touch of sweet, smoky caramel to the aroma and flavor.
