Workers at our PO care about doing a good job and about friendly customer service. My carrier even called me once when he discovered a delivery error offering to come back and deliver on his own time. Left a wallet on the table in the main office and they secured it for me to pick up later. Full of cash and cards ... before and after.
If you mail out anything of value, make sure your package is insured and that you take it to the counter, tell them you want it scanned right then and there, and ask for an acceptance receipt. If I am far too busy, sick, etc.. and have to leave a package in my mailbox for pickup, or leave it in the drop box at the post office, 90% of the time they not only DO NOT scan the package, but it disappears. I'm not joking. Its like someone there hawks over to see which packages weren't scanned in then they steal them. Since there's no acceptance scan, there's no proof of mailing. They know this and they're taking this to their greedy, thieving advantage.
Be warned.
I was at the office yesterday with a postage returned back .and had a letter stating I may be eligible to get the refund back, since it was the post office error.
after making me wait for the manager for over 30 minutes she told me Teresa is the superviser to call me the next day. I called back Teresa 3 times the next day, she never called me back .finally I got a chance to talk to her and she even without knowing what the content of the letter was said no! she didn't let me to read it to her. just for her convenience she just said no. and when I asked her to give me her boss name and if I talk to her boss. she started turning the table and telling me I was rude and she has read the letter while I never left the letter there and nobody else read the letter . she finally gave me a 1800# that was irrelevant number.
This is not a type of manager a post office should have.
