My husband and I moved into our home in October 2022. We love it! As with any construction, there are minor flaws (mainly sheetrock). This is not the company's fault because we were supposed to let them know if we were dissatisfied with anything but we did not see the errors until we painted which was after construction was complete. Despite this mishap, we absolutely love our home. It is well-built and we are very pleased that it blocks outside noise well (ATVs in the neighborhood). As for the modular process, we are happy with the professionalism displayed by the Vanderbuilt team. If you are looking for a modular home, I highly recommend Vanderbuilt Homes.

The people at Homes by Vanderbuilt have been a pleasure with which to work. From the first visit to their show lot to the final walk-through in our finished home, every person--without exception--was professional and personable. My wife and I are extremely pleased.

We recently moved in to our modular home from Vanderbuilt and could not be more thrilled. From our work with our sales representative, Curtis, to the service team, installation and follow up, we had an outstanding experience. The Sales and Project Management departments of this organization are by far the greatest. They are always available whenever needed and makes sure Vanderbuilt homeowners are totally satisfied with quick response to their concerns.

We visited Homes by Vanderbuilt in August of 2018 and I was impressed with all the models I went through and we narrowed it down to the house that met our needs and purchased it that day. Our salesman Keith Edwards sat with us and made our dream house come true with additional add on’s to make the house complete. The process started and everything was done accordingly from start to finish. The service was exceptional and no matter when we called with a question, change, or problem it was taken care of right away and anyone we talked with was always professional and courteous. We were more than impressed when the house was finished and it exceeded our expectations and is absolutely beautiful. We started the process of buying a modular from Vanderbilt in the summer of 2018, after selling our home. We were impressed with the level of customer service from the very beginning when we visited and toured the homes. The experience I had with Vanderbuilt Homes was nothing short of amazing. Every employee there aims to please from the salesman to the office workers. When they said they were going to do something, it got done. All of our expectations were met. Our home is a dream come true! They are honest, good people. I never had to wait on hold when I called and never ever went more than 5 minutes before a call was returned. The process was seamless.

There really is no single word that can describe our experience with Homes by Vanderbuilt. Here are a few that come to mind: ..awesome, great, fantastic, fabulous, impressive, solid construction, great crews, wonderful floor plans, personal care service and helpful team members.

We loved being able to visit and explore the on site models that Homes by Vanderbuilt have set up in Sanford, NC. What a wonderful selection of homes for all sizes and personal needs. Our search for house plans started quite a few years ago. It was particularly helpful to see actual models as compared to floor plan drawings. In our search we reviewed hundreds of house plans. Because of our search, we knew what we wanted in a house and Vanderbuilt fit our needs beyond our expectations.

Never could we have had all the rooms, generous room sizes, sun room, windows, window framing, kitchen set up, appliances, flooring, beverage center, with barn door design, special showers, breezeway with attached garage and awesome bonus area if we had our house custom built. We compared our Vanderbuilt home design with a similar stick built floor plan, and literally the stick built home was almost double in cost. The exterior walls are 6 inches and the energy saving features qualifies it as an energy star home which is eligible for a discount from Duke Power. We absolutely love our house.

The work crews have worked for Vanderbuilt for many years, unlike stick built crews who are often hired on the spot. They express a pride in what they do. If things were not built to our liking,they would fix it, until we were satisfied. That spoke volumes to us. Our friends and family have been blown away(as we have) by the beauty, construction, and layout of our house. We have inspired doubters into looking at modular homes...in particular ones built by Homes by Vanderbuilt.

I had a tremendously wonderful experience working with Vanderbuilt. All employees were completely professional, knowledgeable, honest and experienced. When looking for a builder I spoke with several people who either owned a Vanderbuilt home or knew of Vanderbuilt and I never heard anything negative about this wonderful company. I highly recommend them to anyone.

We shopped around for over a year before deciding to go with a modular from VBH. Sticks built homes were overpriced and a modular gave us the quality and dollar value we were looking for. The contractors that worked on our home were so professional, courteous, and performed quality work. Any issue we had was promptly addressed. VBH treated our home as it if was their own. A simple phone call was all it took to have any issue resolved in a timely manner. The overall quality of our home is reflective in our utility bills. Both our water and electric bills have been reduced by almost half! I would definitely recommend a VBH for anyone interested in purchasing a modular home.

Went to several modular home dealers to look at the homes they had to offer. Vanderbuilt had the best selection of all we went to. Nick Kirsch was the salesman who worked from start to finish through the entire process. His vast knowledge of what they could offer to meet our needs resulted in the perfect floor plan house for us. Started the process in June and moved in mid November. The contractors Vanderbuilt used from start to finish were first rate and did excellent work. We are very pleased with the finished product. All the people at Vanderbuilt were very professional to work with. Any questions or concerns we had they took the time to find the answers and promptly get back to us. I would highly recommend Vanderbuilt for your next home.

We recently bought a home through Kevin Capps with HBV, and he and everyone we encountered with the company was so patient and understanding, and not to mention, helpful, through the whole process! It was our first time buying a home, and every other thing that could go wrong for us went wrong, from having to have 2 land surveys, to moving our house site, and many others. It took us 17 months from the beginning of the process to the end which was not HBV's fault in any way, but HBV did everything they could to speed up the process!

December 02, 2015 my family suffered a home fire where we lost everything. We than attempted the rebuilding process with a contractor. It seem most the work was put back on our shoulders and endless paperwork. We then met Curtis Ragan with Vanderbuilt Homes. Mr. Ragan and everyone I have met or spoke to have went out of their way to ease and help in the process. In the worst situation we have ever experienced Vanderbuilt Homes has turned the situation into a exciting experience where we rebuild our home. Thank you Vanderbuilt Homes and Curtis Ragan for help on starting over lives over.

We purchased a HBV in 2014. After experiencing both the good and the bad, on balance, we are pleased with our home.



When buying a modular home, I think you have to realize there will be plusses and minuses. On the plus side, we received an excellent value for our dollars. The basement, deck ,flooring, and a few other features were contracted with other builders who were present for a lot of the HBV building process. They all told us that the way it was built was quality and that had we gone for stick building of the same structure, we would have paid much more.



On the negative side, if you want to make changes, you will pay. After making several such changes, I realized that I was paying just as much for the changes as I would if we have torn out the stock features and put in what we wanted later. Once I saw this, we stopped making the changes since the options for upgrades was extremely limited, so even though I was paying top dollar for the upgrades, I wasn't getting what I really wanted, just what they could offer.



The really frustrating negative was getting HBV to respond to our many issues during the building process: damaged granite, an unfinished roof line, ruined carpet by a worker with muddy feet, missing equipment for placing the structure on the foundation leading to costly delays, and more. Eventually most -but not all - were made right. It's nice when having a house built to call the contractor about issues. That, however, will not be the case with HBV. Our advise is to keep a log and to keep calling back. Eventually they respond though not all issues were resolved.



In summary, if you go with modular, realize you will not get the service, attention, and customization that comes with hiring a contractor for a custom home. You will, though, get a good price. Would we do it again? Probably.

I recently purchased a home from Curtis Ragan, at Homes of Vanderbuilt in Sanford. I posted a review previously, in the early stages of my purchase. Now that my transaction is complete, I think it's worth noting that I still feel the whole experience was a pleasant one. Homes by Vanderbuilt is a great company to work with! I have been completely satisfied with the service I have recieved through Vanderbuilt in Sanford, NC, from the very beginning right up through closing and moving into my completed home. Curtis Ragan had my loan approved and my appraisal and permits secured within two weeks. Dave Wilson, the Construction Manager contacted me immediately to flag the property for the home, and the crane operator was there the next day to look for possible obstructions and placement of the crane for the work to begin. The following week, Mr. Morton contacted me to arrange the footer work. Work has been progressing since the first day I walked into the Vanderbuilt office. Curtis Ragan has been proactive in getting things in order for me. I can't say enough about the top notch treatment I recieved from Curtis and the rest of the crew in Sanford. The work was completed in a timely manner and was of the highest quality. My new home is beautiful! My energy bills are half what they were in my previous home, due to the energy saving features that are standard for Vanderbuilt. It was easy to see that Vanderbuilt homes are of surperior construction by looking at the spec sheets from them and their competitors, but seeing the difference in my wallet really drives the point home! I can honestly say that any concerns I had through the process were addressed and resolved immediately.....in the same day. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking to purchase a new home. In fact, I have already recommended Curtis Ragan to several friends who are in the market for new homes. I love my new Vanderbuild home, but if I ever decide I want a new house, I will no doubt be on the phone to Curtis Ragan, at Homes by Vanderbuilt in Sanford!
