Applied Geotechnical Engineering Consultants, also known as AGEC, is a full-service geotechnical engineering firm that offers environmental site assessment and construction material testing and observation services. Established in 1990, it operates American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)-accredited in-house laboratories that perform tests on soils, concrete and asphaltic materials. Applied Geotechnical Engineering Consultants is comprised of engineers, professional geologists, inspectors, laboratory technicians and support staff. It has worked on more than 33,000 projects in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, California, Minnesota, Mississippi and Oklahoma. The firm conducts geological engineering investigations for proposed and existing structures in areas of potential earthquake hazards. Its construction materials testing and special inspection services professionals are certified by the International Code Council (ICC) for structural masonry, structural steel, and reinforcing and prestressed concrete.
