Olive Tree Inn & Suites San Luis Obispo

My daughter and I checked into this hotel after a 21-hour trip from the South Dakota to SLO moving my daughter there for college. Almost 12 of those hours was through the desert with no air conditioning in her car. Needless to say, we were very much looking forward to getting our hotel room.

I had made a reservation two weeks earlier. The guy on the phone spoke very choppy English. I made a reservation for a double and he told me it would be $90 something. I gave him my credit card number and I thought all was taken care of.

But when we arrived they said they didn't have a reservation and we were so exhausted. Once again, we were met with very choppy English. They offered to put us in a suite and I agreed but what I didn't know I agreed to was a $150 room. I thought they were giving us a deal for making the mistake. This was their mistake and I had to pay for it? Not right.

I've since written them stating my grievance and I have heard nothing back from them at all. It's been over 6 weeks! I'd call but I can't understand them--that's why I chose to write. I just believe it was very unfair of them to do that to us. Most places that made mistakes try to make it right. But not them! They charge you extra for their mistake!

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone just based on the employees alone.

This hotel is very shady don't stay here.

The manager and employees are dishonest.

Whatever you do didnt give them your credit card number.
