Almaden House

I have lived here for about 5-6 years. The ONLY reason I have stayed is because the rent is cheap. Well... was cheap. We just recently a notice that our rent will increase $180 a month. It's weird because there are always empty apartments. You would think they would want to KEEP good tenants! It is not worth it to stay here for that price. The manager runs this place like a half way house. She also has a shopping cart on her patio, which looks ghetto. Things were stolen from our balcony when they recently painted the place, nothing done about it..



We are not allowed to:

*let our kids ride bikes, scooters on our property, or play outside in the grass area

*change the window coverings, they suck and always break

*put anything on our window seals

*have pets (but the managers husband feeds stray cats every morning by his car, he opens the trunk and has a huge bag of cat food in there)

*not allowed to bbq on our balconys or patios, or anywhere here



Today is the 4th of July and I have had my last straw with this place. The swimming pool is normally open 2 months out of the year, if even that. My son went to the managers place just to ask if she can unlock the pool so they can go swimming. The managers Husband or free loader or whatever he is, yelled at my son to stop banging on the door and to stop playing. This irritated me so I went over there and after knocking for a few minutes he answered the door and yelled at me. I told him I am not a kid, and all I wanted to do was talk to Pam, the manager. Then he told me she was not there, but told my son she was sleeping... then he ended up slamming his door on me. He kept telling me he does not work here so it is not his problem. I really am trying to put up with all this but it has come down to leaving here ASAP!!



The place is really old, we live on the 3rd floor and have gotten complaints about noisy jumping and running at times we were not home, the floors just constantly squeak.



I have soooo much more to add, just please take my advice and do not rent here unless you are an old person who goes to sleep at 7pm, this is not a kid friendly place at all!!
