Zendo Renovations

We recently had backsplash installed in our kitchen by Zendo Renovations. We are very pleased with the work they did! The owner, Greg McDevitt, is very helpful and made sure the job was done perfectly. We would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a home makeover! - Maggie

For three and a half months, Zendo Renovations/Greg completed an extensive remodeling project of our 2-story home to include – complete kitchen renovation, built a partial mudroom, renovated fireplace, interior and exterior lighting, bathrooms, flooring upstairs/downstairs, built walk-in pantry, new doors, complete remodel of 2 ½ bathrooms, remodel master bedroom closets, interior painting, replaced fencing and renovated deck.

We really enjoyed working with Greg and his team. As a contractor, Greg thoroughly understands home construction methods and options. Additionally, he quickly noticed our vision, tastes and direction for the remodel. As a result, he was able to provide great recommendations and options when we picked out materials or discussed various design choices, which were consistent with our budget. We genuinely appreciated Greg’s willingness to work with us and help us as our thoughts, and design ideas evolved beyond the scope of our original remodel plans.

Throughout the project, we had open and frequent communication with Greg and his team. Greg responds very quickly and kept us informed every step of the way. Greg also does an excellent job of clarifying comments, ideas, and needs. Greg and his team did a great job working around our family schedules and availability as well as meeting us at various locations and times.

Greg is very detail oriented and found and fixed minor issues as quickly as possible. Since our remodel was so extensive, we ran into a couple of large issues such as foundation and plumbing. Again, Greg provided viable solutions and stuck with the repairs until everything was completed.

Greg McDevitt goes out of his way to ensure that his team is of the highest quality and safe to have in your home. Their work was absolutely perfect, including all those tiny details that nobody will ever know but you. The work plus all the materials that I personally picked out totaled $8000 but that includes a new sink, over the range vent hood, pot filler (faucet above the stove), door/drawer hardware, type of granite I chose, and the type of backsplash and paint that I chose. I loved their quality of work so much that I hired them to remodel both of my bathrooms because I know they will do amazing and honest work. You can shop around all you want but if a contractor is giving you a super low price, there is a reason and trust me, they'll make a profit but your materials won't stand up to the test of time. Zendo doesn't take shortcuts or try to cheat you on anything. They are the best I have interviewed or worked with and will be my go-to home remodeling team for life.

Given the constraints of an older home (1972), Greg McDevitt and his team provided expert advice and excellent work; very professional. Greg is very detailed oriented and will have his team work until everyone is satisfied....I have his number on speed dial for the next project!

We were made aware of Zendo by a salesman at the tile store. We wanted to replace our living room and office carpeting with wood-look tile. We made an appointment with Greg and he arrived early - unusual in San Antonio. We told him what we wanted and he showed us an extensive gallery of pictures of projects they'd already done. He gave us an estimate, which I thought was a little high, but I was impressed with the quality of the work I saw in the pictures as well as Greg's professionalism. The crew we got - Eduardo, Maria and Paulo - came in and moved all our furniture without incident, pulled up the carpeting, prepped the slab, laid the tile, grouted, and replaced the furniture - all in three days. The finished product was excellent. During the install, there was an issue with the tile and Greg's team pointed it out and offered a solution instead of just installing it and saying, "Oh well." We really appreciated that. Excellent job all around and well worth the price.

When I first met Greg McDevitt, I originally did not go to him for assistance, I was actually at a Lowes store complaining about an issue that needed to be addressed for a special order I had placed for a bedroom door, the employee there was very rude and when I was speaking to the manager, Greg was standing beside me overhearing my conversation. He immediately offered his assistance and told me that he could meet me that same day to assess the problem with the door. He was very attentive and kind, he came over to my home and the next day he started working immediately to fix my door, he even purchased the necessary supplies himself so that I did not have to go out and purchase them myself. He is very detail oriented and also extremely clean, after finishing the job, he swept and vacuumed his work area. I am very impressed by Greg’s workmanship skills, customer service, leadership and friendly demeanor, I would love to keep working with Greg on any future projects I have planned for my home. Another note that I also want to add about Greg is the fact that he is a very good businessman as he prices very fair, and this allows for his customers to keep going back to him, as well as referring his company Zendo Kitchen and Bath Renovations to everyone, awesome Greg, thumbs up from our family!

I love the job that Zendo Renovations did at my home. I recently purchased a new home. Greg/Zendo were highly recommend. From initial consultation, I was able to see why. Greg is extremely professional with a great personality that puts a homeowner at ease. Zendo replaced the tile in two bathrooms and replaced carpet with wood flooring in both bedrooms. I was very pleased with 3 rooms immediately and not so much with the master bath. I called Greg with my concerns. He responded immediately and was back onsite the next day. The issue was faulty thin set so it was no fault of Zendo Renovations. They replaced almost half of the floor and made it right and I'm extremely happy with all four rooms completed. Greg McDevitt remodeled my upstairs bathroom and changed it from an ugly duckling to a graceful swan. The floor is now tiled and the shower was completely renovated. The shower floor has stone pebbles and a seat in the back. I don't even recognized my new bathroom as being a room in my home. Great Job. Deborah

Greg McDevitt, the owner of Zendo Renovations, completed two renovations for us. One was a Mud Room and the other project was to resurface my back patio with multi-color slate stone. The Mud Room was transformed from a concrete floor, damaged baseboards and stained white walls into a room with tiled floors, and tiled walls extending about 3 feet from the floor. It is now very easy to keep this room clean and it always looks so nice. Greg McDevitt coordinated the two projects with efficiency and was always on time to do the work when he stated that he would be there. His immediate follow-up and his handling of any questions as they arose was exceptional. We have plans to have him return to do more work in our home. He will soon be renovating a bathroom and we have plans for other projects. I would highly recommend Zendo Renovations.

I decided to hire Greg McDevitt (Zendo) for my bathroom remodel. I was impressed with his ideas and willingness to entertain our ideas (sometimes differing between my husband and I). Greg was great to work with and was able to put up with myself and my husband as we can sometimes be VERY detail oriented. I was especially impressed with his follow through on issues that arose as we were wrapping up the work when we had a leak. He immediately responded, identified the issue, and resolved it going above and beyond.
