Learn more about some of our key services below.
Quality vision relies upon healthy eyes. We will evaluate the health of your inner eye tissues closely during your eye exam. We may dilate your eyes with eye drops, which helps us see your retina and optic nerve more clearly. Our eye doctor will administer a slit lamp (biomicroscope) exam and/or use advanced diagnostics, such as digital imagery, to look for any abnormalities. We may also use a tonometer to measure your intraocular eye pressure, which is a part of glaucoma screening. No matter where you have your eye exam, either in Creve Coeur, St. Peters, St. Charles, or Wentzville, MO, you will benefit from the latest technology and progressive treatment.
Macular Degeneration
Orthokeratology, or “ortho-k,†is an overnight process of vision correction that leaves your child free of daytime eyewear. Along with the convenience of not having to wear glasses or contacts during the day, ortho-k has been shown to slow down or even stop the progression of a child’s myopia. An additional — yet compelling — benefit is the reduced risk of developing serious ocular conditions and diseases later in life, such as macular degeneration and retinal detachment.
Laser Eye Surgery
Our team of eye doctors and eye care staff are here to care for all of your vision needs in St. Charles, St. Peters, Creve Coeur, and Wentzville. We handle everything from adult eye exams and hard-to-fit contact lenses, to eye emergencies, treatment of eye diseases and co-management of eye surgery such as LASIK.
Cataracts
Just like the rest of our bodies, our eyes begin to weaken as we age. There are a number of common age-related eye conditions such as presbyopia, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration that can begin to affect your vision and your daily life. While some of these conditions are more of an inconvenience, others could lead to vision loss and dependency.
Eye Exam
Our team believes in personalized eye care services for every individual. In order to accomplish this, we pride ourselves on developing a positive, lasting relationship with each patient. When you first arrive to one of our offices, located conveniently in St. Charles, Creve Coeur, St. Peters, and Wentzville, MO, your eye exam will begin with a warm welcome.
As much as 80 % of what a child learns in school is acquired through vision. If vision problems go undetected, many children may be misdiagnosed with “learning difficulties†or “ADHD†, as is already the case in much of the world.
Eye exams are critical because many vision threatening eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, or diabetic retinopathy show no or minimal symptoms until the disease has progressed into its advanced stages. In these cases, early detection and treatment is essential to halting or slowing down the progression of the disease and saving eyesight.
