Bob Peat and Steve Juan founded RJP Electric in 1995. The union electrical-contracting firm performs negotiated and bid work in the metro St. Louis area. RJP Electric offers electrical contracting services primarily in eastern Missouri. In December 2002, Universal Electric joined RJP Electric, which lead to an expansion of the company's service, maintenance, commercial and residential services.
