Kay's Kitchen

Today we directed our path toward Saint Joseph. The restaurant of our choice was 'Kays Kitchen'. It is tugged just at the end of Saint Joseph, and it's easy overlooked, if wouldn't show up in big letters on the building.
'Kays' is serving breakfast and lunch. We were leaving around 11 am, and many restaurants don't serve breakfast after 11 am.
We arrived and from the looks of it, Kays showed the homely atmosphere we were looking for. Inside, it starting to fill up with the early arrivals for lunch. We had to go to the back of the restaurant, to get an empty table.
Soon after, a young server worked herself on our table and took orders and gave us a cup of coffee! ! Since this was the first time there we held our peace and waited. The first cup was long finished and still no coffee in sight. After a while, my husband lifted his cup and tried to call for our server several times. She came to get more coffee in the cup. But why didn't she ask whether we wanted a carafe?
We had to ask for it. Then our meal was brought. My husband thought, that the gravy wasn't warm enough. The potatoes were too soft and not crispy. But we were hungry then, and glad that we had our meal after an half hour! On the way out, we noticed, that there was a small lunch buffet. Perhaps we should have helped us with that? We may come back another day in the hope to have our coffee faster.

Being at kay's before, I was looking forward to return since the closure. With a new face lift and many new staff it was a great change. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was great for a very busy day. The food hit the spot and left those with me as well as i satisfied. It was a great stop back in time, and i look forward to doing it again.
