Overall

Riverside Gardens Apartments look very nice on the outside, but on the inside, especially in the lofts, it's another story. I've been living here for two years, and the last three months have been pure HELL for me!

In February, I alerted the manager Liz to scratching noises in my walls and vents. The scathing scratching of rats! Well, she sent her groundskeeper Mike to check things out. He came back and reported they didn't find anything anything and that all the instances of rats were patched up. I didn't hear anything else and thought everything was okay.

A month later, on March 7th to be exact, I was sitting in my living room when I started hearing the scratching again behind my TV. I approached the TV saw droppings. I immediately packed my bags and left the apartment. After I left, I contacted Liz, the "manager" to let her know about my issue. She sent Mike, the "groundskeeper" out again. They saw the droppings, supposedly laid traps that I still can't find, and cleaned up the droppings. Oh yeah, she gave me some stupid mice lights. That didn't solve the problem!

As of right now, as I am writing this review, rats are crawling and scratching in the walls. The noise is extremely loud in the chimney. Up until now, I have contacted not only Liz, the manager dozens of times, but I've also contacted the Max Hoseit Management Company. Max Hoseit is the owner, by the way. Liz and Mr. Hoseit's RUDE secretary both told me that because the rats are inside my apartment they are not going to do anything about it. Liz herself told me to just pretend I don't hear the rats behind my bed in the walls. Eventually, they will get in, Liz!

This situation has been one of the worst situations of my life! Aside from being extremely terrified of rats, I have to live in conditions where my health and property are being comprised all because the management do not want to spend the money to fix the rats issues. I've even called pest control people myself and they aren't able to come out because I'm in an apartment and they'll need the permission of management. I understand these apartments are behind a river and rats are present, but I'd expect the management company to do something about the situation if they're affecting the tenants. Not here! Management does not care at all.

I called Liz last Thursday threatening to go public, and she called back on Friday referencing the call I made to her on March 10th. I have had enough! This review is the first step, next is a certified letter to the owner and manager, and then a formal complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs, the County, the City, Call Curtis from KOVR 13 and anyone else who is willing to listen to me.

For current and future tenants, please save your health, time and money. These apartments are not worth it. They treat their tenants horrible, and Liz is a disgrace to the property management industry. Max Hoseit's biggest mistake was higher that airhead to management these apartments. If Susan, the longtime manager was still here, I wouldn't be going through this. The water leak in my chimney, the drainage issues in both bathrooms, the rats in the walls, and even the wasp nest outside would be all fixed in a very short amount of time.

Now to the certified letter I have to type and get in the mail tomorrow...
