AHS sent this company out to fix the washer. They told AHS that I overloaded the washer which caused the malfunction and to not cover the repairs. I have been washing clothes for 35 years and I knew this was not true. After googling this company, I have found over 26 negative reviews (everyone seems to have the same story/experience as me) There is a pattern here! This company only wanted to collect the service fee and be on their way without fixing anything. Don't let these people in your house. Let AHS know that you have read the reviews and to send another company. AHS informed me that they do not read online reviews and they depend on the survey they send so everyone with this experience should complete the AHS survey as well as the online reviews so that they can quit sending this dishonest company into people's homes.

I put in a service request for my dishwasher through my home warranty (American Home Shield) who chose to send Lake Area Appliance Service to answer the request. My appointment window was 2:00pm-6:00pm. I called the company at 6:15pm because he still had not shown up and they were closed for the day. At 6:35 Daren from Lake Area Appliance Service shows up. He left at 6:50. He was there for 15 minutes. He took pictures and said he was going to report to home shield that the washer should not be covered because I had tampered with it. The day before putting in the request I pulled the drawers and sprayers out to check the filter. This is regular maintenance stuff recommended for every dishwasher 2x per year. I thought I was being courteous and saving the tech some time by not putting it back because he would have to remove it to check the pump and filter as well. It would have taken me 5 minutes to put back. Instead of being appreciate that I saved him a few minutes he used this as an excuse to not have to do anything. Now I'm out the $75 service fee and still have buy a new washer and install it myself. This company would use any excuse to not have to do any work and keep the service fee. If your home warranty tries to send Lake Area Appliance Service I would highly recommend canceling and demanding that the warranty company chose a different company to service the request.

The repair man who was just here to work on my refrigerator was so nice, professional, and helpful. He explained the problem so I could understand it. He is an employee to be very proud of. I thought he said his name was Johnny, but his signature on the receipt is Donny. Thank you. I am impressed with your company.

This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. I can’t say it enough, let alone tell enough people. Having a home warranty this company was selected for me in Sept when my fridge started acting up. Long story short there was 2 different techs that had to come out 8 times(and still counting) to try and replace various parts. Let me repeat so far a total of EIGHT visits. To top that off each visit has a 4 hour window and they operate from 9-4 during the wk, completely inflexible for a single homeowner who works 60+ hours a wk. To top it off the parts that Lake Area installs are refurbished parts! Even the parts that were removed they would take back with them so that they would repair them. This is possibly why so many of the parts that they tried fixing did not work. The last visit the tech changed out 3 different parts, he then said the fridge had to be watched for a total of 12 hours to see if it works properly and to make sure it doesn’t get to warm and catch on fire! Not only do I not have the time, I’m also not trying to set my entire complex in flames. This is the most bogus “repair” advice I have ever been given. It is sad that Lake Area calls this a repair. Instead of saying that the fridge is unrepairable, they are now requesting a tech from the fridge manufacturer to look at it. This would be a 3rd tech and a 9th visit. I don’t have the time to yet again to leave my job. Absolutely ridiculous the level of customer service that is offered here. I am surprised this company is still in business to tell you the truth with how this situation is handled. I also partially blame this on the Home Warranty (American Home Shield) for allowing a company to take this many visits, for which I have cancelled my services with them. Going on 4 months of this and I have about had it, I hope that I can at least help as many people as I can by not doing business here.

TO CUSTOMERS AND THE OWNER from a customer, not a competitor



The owner tells you to check with the Better Business Bureau. They are not members of the BBB and have no reviews there, although I'm going to file a complaint. The repairman told me that our repair would be covered by our warranty, and the told the warranty company that it shouldn't be covered. The owner, Donna, flat-out lied to me about this and when I called refused to answer my questions. Will you believe the comments by the owner or everyone else?

I WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO GIVE A STAR THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, I HAD A COMPLAINT AND TRIED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND SHE WOULD NOT LET ME GET A WORD IN EDGE WISE, SHE HAD AN ATTITUDE WHEN SHE FIRST GOT ON THE PHONE, I GUESS THIS IS WHERE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS GONE
